Home of green parrots and turtles in Athens

The best place in Athens to hide from daytime heat with pleasure! The National Garden is in 10 minutes by foot from Omonia square. It is big green park, be sure you will not miss it) There are a lot of different trees, plants and flowers as well as lawn where you can rest in shades. Or you can visit a lake inside a park to feed ducks, but unfortunately lake area is closed for reconstruction now. Hope they will done it soon. For my surprise the park is populated with green parrots, they are literally everywhere! but it is difficult to catch them with camera, they are mor timorous than pigeons. And if you are lucky, there is a chance to find a turtles in the wild there, they are kind and social, keep some food with you to feed them:) Have a nice stay in Athens! #athens #turtle #nationalgarden
