Greece - Acropolis

The Parthenon Temple, located on the Acropolis hill in Athens, Greece, was built in the 5th century BC as an offering to the goddess Athena. Seeing the iconic structure from my history textbook right in front of me was an unforgettable experience. As someone who chose world history (even though it was my weakest subject!), I was thrilled to recognize the famous monument from the early pages of the textbook. ☀️ The Greek yogurt shop at the foot of the hill was absolutely delicious. 🤍 ⚠️ Tips for future visitors: - Advance ticket reservations are a must!! - The "Acropolis Combo Ticket" is a great deal (it includes access to other ruins). - Summers can be scorching! Bring a hat and water. - The views from nearby Areopagus Hill and Pnyx Hill are breathtaking. ✨
