After a 3-day journey through A'ershan using public transportation, I was left with mixed feelings. Here, I candidly share the stark contrast between the breathtaking scenery and the inconvenient realities. ❌ Points to Note · Accommodation Issues: Over the 3 days, I stayed in a city villa, a traditional ondol room, and a heated room, all of which lacked basic comfort due to cold temperatures, dirtiness, and even spiders. · Insect Infestation: During autumn, the area is teeming with small bugs and ladybugs! Not recommended for those who fear insects. · Physical Demands: Endless stairways on hiking trails and the inconvenience of having no place to change clothes. · Transportation Problems: Shuttle buses within the scenic area are dusty, crowded, and operate on an inefficient schedule. · Hygiene Concerns: Restrooms and waiting areas are poorly maintained. 🌟 Still Worth Seeing · Budonghe (Unfrozen River): The most beautiful scenery, accessible on foot from the Tianchi service area. · Tianchi (Heavenly Lake): Unique volcanic terrain and natural landscapes. 💡 Practical Tips · Public transportation between the city and the scenic area operates only three times a day, so booking tickets in advance is essential. · With only about 100 taxis available, immediate hailing is difficult. · Limited dining options with relatively high prices. · Traveling by private car is highly recommended. ✍️ Overall Impression The natural beauty is undeniable, but the facilities and management lag far behind.
