Winter in Japan's Tohoku region is a dreamlike world of snow and ice, hot springs, history, and culture. If you're lucky, you can enjoy both crimson maple leaves and snowy scenery from late November to early December. The seasonal Aomori apples are truly different from those bought in Taiwan and are incredibly delicious. 😋 Somaro not only preserves artifacts of its former prosperity but also preserves the geisha culture of Sakata Minato-cho in Yamagata Prefecture. Simply enjoying a geisha performance is a reasonable ¥1,000.
