An Orthodox monastery in the mountains, with an atmosphere a bit like the Hanging Temple. There are also Christian murals inside, but unfortunately some of them were destroyed during the Greco-Turkish War, but it is still a tourist attraction worth visiting.

特拉布宗（Trabzon），土耳其東部的黑海港口城市，幾乎是陸路往來格魯吉亞的必經之地，城市建設得鳥語花香綠意盎然，長途巴士站的豪華程度能吊打普通中型機場。

這座城市有什麼遠近聞名的景點不？有！蘇美拉修道院（Sumela Monastery）【圖1-2】，始建於公元389年的希臘東正教懸崖修道院，準世界遺產，遠看頗有氣勢，內飾各種濕壁畫，是旅行博主們競相打卡展示優越感的風水寶地。
你以為我是來種草的嗎？NoNoNo，相反我是來除草的！
①這個修道院歷史上曾經多次遭到廢棄，最近一次廢棄發生在1923年，後來又遭遇了火災，直到荒廢到2010年才開始重建，現在的修道院幾乎就是仿製品；
②濕壁畫主要存在於個別岩洞的內側和外牆，且保存狀況並非很好；
③地處偏僻，除了來回漫長且並不便宜的長途交通，這裡還對外國遊客收取20歐元的門票，土耳其本國人只需約HKD12，整整貴了13倍，殺年豬都沒用這麼快的刀。

總之，家裡不差錢的、時間特別空的朋友完全可以去蘇美拉裝一下，否則最好跟著我的腳步，咱們來看看如何在特拉布宗找到平替，換個地方一樣也能裝。

1.Kızlar Manastırı（基茲拉爾女子修道院）【圖3-4】：位於市區Boztepe Hill小山上，建於14世紀下半葉，希臘東正教，從19世紀來就沒有太大變化了，但濕壁畫保存狀況一般，如今成為博物館，門票本國外國統一價約HKD12；
2.St. Anne's Church（聖安妮教堂）【圖6-8】：始建於公元6-7世紀，是特拉布宗最古老教堂，2021年做了一次清理和修復，如今是免費博物館，面積很小，但多處濕壁畫清晰可見，很有觀賞性；
3.Hagia Sophia Mosque（聖索菲亞清真寺）【圖9-18】：當地名Ayasofya，一聽就知道又是一個「古教堂改建成清真寺」的案例。教堂建於公元1250年拜占庭晚期，帶格魯吉亞風格，公元1584年改成清真寺，1964年成為博物館，2013年又恢復成清真寺，但無論如何，內飾的濕壁畫和外牆的塞爾柱石雕都保留得不錯的，特別是半開放式側廳裡的壁畫極為艷麗，個人覺得完全不輸蘇美拉。免費參觀，不花錢，敞開了裝，放開了裝。

Trabzon, a Black Sea port city in eastern Turkey, is almost a must-pass for land travel to Georgia. The city is built with birds singing and flowers fragrant, and the luxury of the long-distance bus station can hang ordinary medium-sized airports.

Does this city have any famous attractions? Yes! Sumela Monastery [Figure 1-2], a Greek Orthodox cliff monastery founded in 389 AD, a quasi-world heritage site, looks quite imposing from a distance, and the interior is decorated with various frescoes. It is a geomantic treasure land where travel bloggers compete to check in and show a sense of superiority.

①This monastery has been abandoned many times in history. The most recent abandonment occurred in 1923. Later, it was hit by a fire. It was not until 2010 that it was abandoned and began to be rebuilt. The current monastery is almost a replica;
②Frescoes mainly exist on the inside and outside walls of individual caves, and the preservation conditions are not very good;
③Located in a remote place, in addition to the long and not cheap long-distance transportation, it also charges 20 euros for foreign tourists. Turkish people only need about 12 yuan, which is 13 times more expensive. Killing the New Year's pig does not use this fast knife.

1.Kızlar Manastırı (Kizlar Women's Monastery) [Figure 3-4]: Located on the small hill of Boztepe Hill in the city, it was built in the second half of the 14th century, Greek Orthodox, and has not changed much since the 19th century, but the frescoes are generally preserved. It has now become a museum, and the ticket price for both domestic and foreign countries is about 12 yuan;
2.St. Anne's Church [Figure 6-8]: It was founded in the 6-7th century AD and is the oldest church in Trabzon. It was cleaned and repaired in 2021. It is now a free museum. The area is very small, but many frescoes are clearly visible and very ornamental;
3.Hagia Sophia Mosque [Figure 9-18]: The local name Ayasofya, you know at a glance that it is another case of "ancient church converted into a mosque". The church was built in the late Byzantine period in 1250 AD, with Georgian style. It was converted into a mosque in 1584 AD. It became a museum in 1964 and was restored to a mosque in 2013. However, the frescoes and Seljuk stone carvings on the exterior walls are well preserved. The frescoes in the semi-open side hall are particularly gorgeous. I personally think it is not lost to Sumela. Free visit, no money, open to install, let go of the installation.

The sumela monastery is an ancient Greek orthodox monastery. It dates back to as old as the 4th century. Left ruined several times in history. There are constant renovation efforts to preserve the ruins. It's terrible to think the destruction of it has been human doing. Anyways, for a price of 20 euros, it makes for one the finest ruins/historical sight visits in all of the black sea region. Yet, I think the prices of entries in Turkey need to improve. It's very costly when you calculate all the entrances you pay on a holiday. 

If you are in trabzon, you shouldn't miss this at any cost. The landscape of this area is so unlike what you imagine Turkey to be. Excellent views when you put in the effort and walk all the way. It does have some steep stairs. So prepare for that and preferably put on your best shoes. With renovations the tourist experiences will improve further. We took a bus after we were dropped at the parking lot by our taxi driver. The route is scenic and makes for a fun hike.
