Luxor Nile River Cruise

The Nile River runs through the city, dividing Luxor into the east and west banks. The east is where the sun rises, and the pharaohs built temples and palaces for their prayers and residences. The west is where the sun sets, and they built tombs, waiting for a new rebirth. The city of life and the city of the dead face each other across the river, eternally cycling in the universe. This layout is very much in line with the ancient Egyptian understanding of life and death. The ancient Egyptians worshiped the sun, and they firmly believed that life is eternal, and death is by no means the end, but the beginning of a new journey. After death, the soul will continue to exist and needs the body as a solid support to finally usher in the moment of rebirth, just like the sun, although it sets every day, it will always rise again the next day, radiating new light. For this reason, they tried their best to preserve their bodies, carefully making them into mummies, and solemnly engraving their names on the coffins, just to allow the souls to quickly find their former masters and start a new journey of reincarnation. On the cruise, we felt that the Nile River in the Luxor area was not as stunning as that in Aswan. The river here seems too wide, so it loses that just-right sense of refinement. Moreover, there are obviously fewer of the unique charms brought by the oases along the coast, and it seems that the typical scenery that can represent Egypt is completely missing. As the boat slowly sailed into the Nile River, a gentle breeze caressed our faces, bringing a hint of coolness. Looking up, the wide river surface was sparkling, and the setting sun shone on the water, shimmering with golden light. This was the best moment for taking pictures! As the sun gradually set, the sky was dyed a gorgeous orange-red, and the Nile River became even more dreamy and charming. The distant sailboats turned into black silhouettes, and the ropes sparkled with a unique light in the afterglow of the setting sun. Occasionally, the boatmen's passionate singing and bursts of laughter came from the boats, which was the joyful expression of the tourists immersed in this wonderful atmosphere. The sailboats shuttled on the Nile River, blending with the surrounding scenery and becoming an indispensable part of this dreamlike scene. Without the sun, the sparkling water surface that was reflected by the sunlight just now is now like a gently smoothed silk. The small sailboats are still moving in the river, and the hulls are moving slowly with the current, with a quiet beauty. It slowly breaks through the calm water surface, leaving slender water marks behind it, as if writing the end of this journey.
