Akiu Onsen Town: Ancient Style and Fragrance

#Japan and Korea Spring Good Places Akiu Onsen Street is undoubtedly the most memorable stop during my trip to Tohoku, Japan. Whenever you step into this ancient hot spring town, you can always feel the unique human touch and historical charm permeating the streets. Walking on this old street, the first thing that catches your eye is the quaint hot spring hotels. Each store is renovated from a century-old house, and the unique tranquil atmosphere of wooden buildings can be seen everywhere. The streets are dotted with many red lanterns and small bridges with flowing water. With the occasional wisps of white smoke rising from the streets, the whole scene is as charming as if traveling through a time tunnel. What attracted me most was the unique hot spring culture experience here. The old hotel where I stayed had a long history of more than 300 years. The hotel not only provided authentic Japanese hot spring baths, but also the traditional style of accommodation was unique. What’s even more amazing is that there is even an ancient sacrificial site in this hotel, which gives us a glimpse into the unique way the Japanese worship the hot spring culture of hot springs. In addition to taking a hot spring bath, I also tried the hot spring eggs in the nearby open-air hot spring pool. The unique soft texture of the egg yolk condensed in the center after being scalded by the hot spring is definitely an unforgettable surprise experience in life. Akiu Onsen Street is not only quiet and peaceful, but also allows you to deeply experience the unique way Japanese people worship hot spring culture. It is truly a worthwhile stop. Experiencing this long-standing cultural atmosphere in person is definitely the greatest reward of visiting the Northeast to enjoy the scenery.
