Oga Unosaki Coast, known as Akita's Uyuni! For some reason, as soon as I hear the name of the place, I forget it, so Akita's Uyuni is easy to remember. To be honest, it's not easy to get to Akita. Transportation costs are high, there are few means of transportation, and it takes time to travel from other prefectures. To get to Akita's Uyuni, you can first take the train from Akita Station to Oga Station, the last train. The train was a new model and was stylish. The problem is from Oga Station, but you can take a taxi there (the easiest way), or you can take a bus. (There are very few buses, so check the timetable), or if you're confident in your stamina, I recommend walking. It's about 12 kilometers round trip, so I walked there. The countryside of Akita, the beautiful sea, the old shops, the blue sky, of course it was hard, but I don't regret walking there now! Even though it was a Sunday when I went, there were only four tourists, a family, and two elderly couples. This is Kakunodate Samurai Residence Street in Senboku City, Akita. There are many historical buildings in the area. The retro townscape is well-balanced with modern cleanliness, making it perfect for sightseeing. Most of the stores and buildings are closed in the evening. Unfortunately, I couldn't enter any of them, so I just enjoyed the townscape, but I was able to take a lot of nice photos 😊 I think the cherry blossoms and fresh greenery in spring and the autumn leaves in autumn will be beautiful. Kurayoshi Kakunodate Main Branch Sweets Sabo is a Japanese confectionery shop located on Buke Yashiki Street in Akita Prefecture. I visited during Golden Week. I happened to be passing by, and couldn't help but go in because it was a clean and stylish shop. I spotted some delicious-looking daifuku and bought one. I really wanted to try the one with a whole chestnut inside, but it was too expensive at 1,000 yen each, so I went for the regular chestnut daifuku. It seems that the daifuku only lasts for one day. I had it as a dessert on the Shinkansen on the way back the next day. The refined red bean paste was not too sweet and was delicious. It seems that they also sell dorayaki and other long-lasting sweets. This is the statue of Tatsuko in Lake Tazawa, Akita Prefecture. I visited during Golden Week. It's a spot that represents Lake Tazawa. It's a historic bronze statue built in 1968. (You can also see live camera footage from the Senboku City website.) It was the most crowded place around Lake Tazawa. (But it was still pretty empty!) You can also walk a little and go to Kansa Shrine. There are also goshuin stamps here. It looks like it's floating on the lake, which is mysterious. I was able to enjoy the cherry blossoms just before the time came. They also sell fish food🐟 (I didn't see them, but they seem to be in the lake. They don't seem to eat anything when they're being fed a lot. I gave up after hearing that story.) You can use the parking lot of the souvenir shop Saito Shoten across the street. It costs 200 yen just to park, but they will exchange it for a 200 yen voucher that can be used at the shop. This is Gozaishi Shrine in Akita Prefecture. I visited during Golden Week. You can take wonderful photos of the torii gate and Lake Tazawa, with their contrast of red and blue. The shrine is open and they have goshuin stamps and fortune slips. There is also a large, beautiful tree at the entrance. A little further on, there is also a hometown monument. It's a spot with lots of things to see. There is also a parking lot. This is Lake Tazawa in Akita Prefecture. I went a little further and visited this area during my Golden Week trip to Iwate. It seems that you can swim in this area in the summer. The sparkling white sand with slightly larger grains was beautiful. It was cold so I couldn't even touch the water, but it seems to be colder than the sea even in summer. The wind was strong that day, so the lake surface was moving like waves. I was able to take wonderful photos of the blue sky, clear water, and sparkling white beach 🎵.
