Take a walk and eat local seafood at Zengcuoan
This food street is 曾厝垵小吃顗, located in the fishing village. This is where you can find seafood restaurants on both sides of the street. There are both restaurants where you can sit down and eat, or you can just walk around and eat. There are so many dishes for you to try.
The local menu here is 沙茶面 (shā chá miàn), a noodle dish that is popular in southern Fujian Province. The soup is made from satay sauce and added with bean sprouts, pork liver, and other ingredients. When you get there, you have to try it.
Or you can try the big oysters, which are just as fresh and delicious.
There are also a lot of pearls for sale, so you can buy them as souvenirs.

Xiamen retro vibes at Zengcuoan
#favouriteitinerary
Most itineraries for Xiamen will mention Zeng Cuo An, and it is certainly worth a quick visit tacking on from nearby attractions like Xiamen University and Nanputuo Temple.
🐟 What used to be a sleepy fishing village in the southern tip of Xiamen has now become a tourist hotspot - many restaurants and costume rental shops have now popped up in the village, and it's quite common to see tourists jostling to get their photos taken in front of the charming historic houses with their iconic tile patterns and designs. Every little corner beckons with rustic charm, and it's possible to find some photo spots that are less crowded if you go with an open mind and some time to spare.
⏰️ For those who aren't planning on a photoshoot, a quick 45-minute jaunt around the village will suffice in terms of getting a general feel of it and picking up a light bite along the food street.
