When talking about southern Alaska, we have to mention the town of Whittier. It is a small city, with a total population of less than 300 people. What is even more surprising is that in Whittier, the town's church, hospital, police station, convenience store, clinic, audio-visual store, city government, etc. are all in one residential building.
