There were really only two things to see there: the Korean Folk Village and a “faithfully restored fortress of Hwaseong” as described in the Lonely Planet. The fortress of Hwaseong was built between 1794 and 1796 during the reign of King Jeongjo of the famous Joseon Dynasty that I kept hearing about in the palaces of Seoul. It was also an effort to make Suwon the second capital city. There are four main gates, of which the Paldalmun was the most famous and a designated national treasure. It almost felt like seeing the fortress of Xi’an, an ancient capital in China. Not only does it have a library area for you to read, relax & enjoy the magnificent architecture, but it also has many options for surrounding cafe spaces. In addition, Starfield in Suwon is also a complex commercial center with many shops and famous brands here. Once you've decided to come here, it often takes more than half a day to wander around and explore all the corners of Starfield Suwon. From Seoul station to here can be called a little far. #OverseasGourmet2024 I always gave up on the LONDON BAGEL MUSEUM because it was so popular in Seoul. There is also a branch at Starfield Suwon. I checked in around 11:00 and was able to enter at 12:00, so it was still popular in Suwon. ・ The first thing that caught my eye was the horse-themed interior and goods that make it the LONDON BAGEL MUSEUM, rather than the bagels. Being a horse lover in the Year of the Horse, I took pictures of everything I saw, bought some stickers, and was overjoyed. ・ And even though I had done some research on the taste of the bagels, when I saw them in front of me, I no longer knew what to eat. I thought that Mushroom Truffle Soup was a surefire order, so I chose the Spring Onion Pretzel Bagel, which seemed to go well with it, and was tempted by the sesame and onion bagel and the word Best. It was called the best, but it was a rare bagel with a generous amount of cream cheese with green onions sandwiched between a pretzel bagel. When you eat it, you can see that the cream cheese is excellent and makes a great combination with the saltiness of the pretzel bagel. ・ More than the bagel, I liked the thick and rich mushroom soup. The moment you put it in your mouth, the mushroom flavor spreads. When you eat it with the bagel, it feels like a perfect combination.
