Delightful Ducklings
Something that is a pure delight about spring is seeing many baby animals and none are more delightful and cute than ducklings. As you take a leisurely stroll along the canal, you will see these amazing little creatures their little feet paddling away like mad to keep up with their parents all the while chirping away a lovely little tune.

A quaint village
The village built up around Yorkshire’s famous Bolton Abbey is the perfect example of an English country village.
The centre comprises of everything you would expect from a local village hall, small village shops, a tea room and and a fantastic antique book store. Make sure you don’t pass this by when you make a visit to the abbey. #chillandthrill #Village #Yorkshire

850 years of history
Located on the Bolton Abbey site the priory was the only surviving part of the vast abbey that once dominated the area and was destroyed during the 16th century dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII.
The interior of the priory is full of history with continuous worship taking place here since the 12th century and a stunning set of 14th century stained glass windows adorning the walls. #chillandthrill #Priory #Boltonabbey #yorkshire

Magnificent Malham Cove
Malam Cove is a large curved limestone, naturally formed amphitheatre on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Cove was formed more than 12,000 years ago during the end of the last ice age and was formed by a waterfall carrying meltwater from glaciers. It’s an amazing natural wonder to behold!

A cove and a scar
Malham has to be up there amongst North Yorkshire’s most scenic spots. The 6km circular walk around the area provides some of the best nature has to offer. Here are some of the highlights.
Janet’s Foss- A beautiful woodland, which is awash with the smell of wild garlic throughout the spring culminating in a stunning waterfall.
Gordale Scar- An awe inspiring limestone ravine which after spells of heavy rain can showcase water cascading down.
The limestone pavement- Made famous as a filming site for Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows, this unique landscape was formed during the last ice age and
provides a dramatic viewpoint across the region

A Yorkshire Stronghold
The fascinating history and preservation of North Yorkshire’s Skipton castle makes it a perfect destination to visit whilst in the area.
Almost a 1000 years old the castle is one of the best examples of Norman building left in the UK. Extended over the years to include larger fortifications and a wonderful courtyard, you are free to wander around the castles vast array of buildings and area as well as having a picnic in its gardens. #castle #history #yorkshire

Fancy to go on a hike with scenic views that’s not too challenging? Follow this guide to get the most of it!
Malham is a small town located in the Yorkshire Dales National park. There’s a massive carpark located in this small town with reasonable price so you can park your car there and go up the hill!
Start your route from Malham and walk up to the Malham Cove. This is meant to be a 30 minutes hike but it took me longer than that. You will see some incredible small lakes along your way before you reach the destination.
After getting a breather and enjoy the incredible views, start your journey again from the Malham Cove and walk to Gordale star. This is a slightly longer walk which took me around an hour and a half but the unique and incredible views at the end is definitely worth it!
At the end very end, before returning to Malham you would walk pass Janet’s Foss which offers a scenic waterfall. Feel free to bring your swim suit and have a swim!

Malham Cove,UK ! Harry potter shooting site.
Our trip to Malham Cove, UK, was a memorable adventure. As we hiked through the scenic Yorkshire countryside, anticipation grew with each step. The towering limestone cliff of Malham Cove, standing at 260 feet, greeted us with its impressive grandeur. The base, with its natural amphitheater and bubbling stream, offered a serene spot to explore. We then ascended to the top, where the unique limestone pavement and panoramic views of the Yorkshire Dales left us in awe.
A fascinating aspect of Malham Cove is its geological history, shaped by glacial meltwater over 12,000 years ago. It’s also a popular spot for Harry Potter fans, having served as a filming location in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.” The rich biodiversity, including rare plants and nesting peregrine falcons, added to the allure of this natural wonder. The combination of breathtaking scenery, rich history, and peaceful ambiance made our visit to Malham Cove an unforgettable experience. #Yorkshire

You can't get much more Yorkshire than this
Getting There - At only ~10 miles away, buses from Skipton town centre should get you there within half an hour. You'll have to time your trip wisely though, as buses to Malham are one 2-3 times a day (in winter). You can also get there by car, but parking is limited in the area.
Attractions - Malham Cove, Janet's Foss, Gordale Scar - all lengthy and hilly walks, so be sure to wear the right walking equipment. A packed lunch would do nicely as well - though there is a small food van not too far from Janet's Foss if you're in a pickle.
Hotels - The Lister Arms, The Buck Inn,
Food & Restaurants - The Old Barn Tearoom if you're on a budget and The Buck Inn if you're feeling a bit more indulgent are available in the center of the village for a quick bite or a well earned pint after exploring Malham's wonderful sights #mountainview #yorkshire
