Let's go on a little trip! Nihondaira is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, not too far from Tokyo. Besides the famous Shizuoka tea, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, on the day we went, Mount Fuji was hiding behind the clouds and didn't show its face. We took the cable car to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, where the scenery was serene and there weren't many people. After a strenuous climb, we finally reached the top. Besides worshiping and enjoying the beautiful scenery, we had a panoramic view of Shizuoka City below. You can hike and exercise here, but the only downside of this trip was not being able to see Mount Fuji's face.

Nihondaira in the central part of Shizuoka Prefecture is a place where you can see Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay from afar on a clear day, and enjoy the wide open landscape. Unfortunately, the weather was not good this morning. It rained most of the time. When we arrived at "Nihondaira", the rain was even heavier. We had to sit in the car and wait for the sky to clear up. When the rain turned into a drizzle, we first went to visit "Kunoh Toshogu Shrine" located on the hillside of Kunohsan. We had to take a 1,065-meter-long ropeway from the top of "Nihondaira" to reach "Toshogu Shrine". This is the temple built by the son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, a general of the Japanese Warring States Period, after leaving his will. There is also a museum outside the temple, which houses the treasures of the Tokugawa shogunate and the battle uniforms of successive generals. After visiting the museum, we climbed up the stone steps. The Toshogu Shrine was originally the burial place of Tokugawa Ieyasu (later moved to the Nikko Toshogu Shrine), and his beloved horse was also buried there. Because the temple has been well preserved for 400 years and is almost the same as it was in the early days, and its architectural design has also influenced similar architectural models in the future, it has been listed as a national treasure of Japan. You can also see "Suruga Bay" here. After leaving Toshogu Shrine, we took the ropeway back to Nihondaira. The rain had stopped, but there were still thick clouds, so we couldn't see Mount Fuji from afar. #cherryblossom25 I’m a fan of sakura so I would definitely go to the places where there are cherry blossoms. The cherry blossom tunnel and the leyama river bank were in full bloom. It happened to be the time when the Oigawa Railway's EL train was passing, and I was excited to press the shutter. The pale pink cherry blossom tunnel seemed to make me lose track of time. The cherry blossoms on the south bank of the leyama River are within reach, and this is a recommended course where you can feel the cherry blossoms up close.

#ThailandFlightEvent Nanaya Ice Cream & Wasabi Shop Visit Review (Shizuoka Trip) A place I really wanted to visit during my trip to Shizuoka was Nanaya Ice Cream. It is famous for being able to choose the green tea ice cream concentration from 1 to 7, so it already has a green feel from the entrance! I tried the strongest concentration, level 7 matcha ice cream. The strong matcha flavor filled my mouth, but it wasn't bitter at all, and instead of bitterness, it had a rich and soft flavor, so I kept eating it. I definitely recommend level 7 to those who like strong flavors. The person I went with chose level 3, but it was a more popular and soft flavor, so I think anyone can enjoy it regardless of preference. The inside of the Nanaya store was clean and spacious, so it wasn't uncomfortable even when there were a lot of tourists, and the staff was kind enough to explain things to me, which was nice. After eating the ice cream, there was a small wasabi specialty souvenir shop right nearby. Shizuoka is said to be the birthplace of Japanese wasabi, so I went in with high expectations, and you can taste it, and there are so many wasabi-related products! Wasabi salt, wasabi seaweed, wasabi mayonnaise, and even wasabi chocolate. It was fun to look around because it was an interesting composition, and I bought one wasabi mayonnaise and one wasabi seaweed. They are both not too spicy, so they are perfect as a beer snack or snack at home. The combination of sweet matcha and spicy wasabi in Shizuoka was surprisingly a memorable course. If you go to Shizuoka, I definitely recommend this combination! While eating, I thought, ‘Why did I only find out about this now?’ It was a good meal to eat quickly before getting on the train. The water is so clear and vibrant, it almost looks fake but it’s 100% real. The bridge sways a bit when you walk (not gonna lie, it’s a little nerve-racking), but the views are absolutely next-level. People say if you make a wish for love while standing in the middle, it might come true, so yeah, couples are into it. You’ve gotta hike a bit to get there through tunnels, forest paths, and up a steep staircase after. But that whole adventure adds to the vibe. Go early if you want some peace, because this place gets busy. It’s dreamy, a little spooky, and totally unforgettable.
