P/S: Visit mid-morning for the clearest skies ☀️and fewer crowds. 📍Mount Sungay Road, Barangay Dapdap West, Tagaytay City We also visited Balay Dako and I would highly recommend this place for its authentic Filipino dishes 🥘 and stunning architecture. I guess a volcanic lake slowly formed long ago after the big volcano burst Then it exploded again in the middle, forming the "little volcanic island" (?) in the middle 🤯 (Geography experts please advise 🙇🏻♀️🙏🏼) I googled the photos, people used to climb the island of Taal volcano, and there is another volcanic lake in the middle😮 When I was doing research, I felt a little surprised just imagining it😂😮 But it is always an active volcano🌋, and in recent years there are signs that it will explode at any time😱 There was a strong explosion in 2020. In addition to nearby residents who had to evacuate, schools and work were suspended, even takeoff and landing flights were all suspended😳😳😳 Then to last year, even April-May this year there were still some steam eruptions detected 😱😰😰 The local government has declared it a permanent danger zone. It is now strictly prohibited to go to the island.
