The old building made of simple stone has a great atmosphere and serves authentic Portuguese seafood cuisine. Adega Dona Antónia’s signature dish is grilled octopus feet, a dish that is also very common in Spain and is a classic Mediterranean dish. The oversized octopus feet are grilled with a crispy skin and tender meat that melts in your mouth. It is very delicious! It was a trip to Porto, Portugal 🇵🇹 Porto is a vibrant and picturesque city known for its stunning riverside views, colorful buildings, and rich history 🙌 We kicked off our Porto adventure with an early morning ☀️ stroll through Ribeira, the historic district by the Douro River. The soft morning light ✨ made the colorful buildings along the riverbank glow, and the calm waters of the river reflected the historic architecture. We spent time walking along the cobbled streets, capturing the narrow alleys and vibrant facades. It’s an unmissable spot to start your day, especially for those looking to capture Porto’s authentic charm 🙌 📍Ribeira, Porto, Portugal After exploring Ribeira, we crossed the famous Dom Luís I Bridge 😍 to the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the river. The bridge, with its iconic double decker structure, offers some of the best panoramic views of Porto, especially in the late morning light ✨ when the city is bathed in warm tones. From the top deck, we snapped some stunning photos 📸 of Porto’s skyline, including the colorful buildings and the river winding through the city 💯 📍Ponte Dom Luís I, 4000 Porto, Portugal We also visited Jardim do Morro, a lovely park on the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the river. Dubbed the world's most beautiful McDonald's, several cities in Europe boast such a title. This time, we visit the McDonald's located in Liberty Square, Porto, Portugal. Housed in a classical-style building that once served as the Imperial Café, McDonald's has inherited the original elegant style with stained glass, Roman columns, crystal chandeliers, and marble tiles, making it exceptionally elegant and luxurious. The eagle sculpture on the exterior facade is quite striking, standing guard at the entrance and surveying the surroundings. This McDonald's in Porto is situated next to the bustling City Hall Liberty Square, so it attracts a lot of people, mostly crowding the first floor and outdoor seating. However, the basement also offers a spacious dining area with fewer people. As for the menu, it's quite similar to other locations. The classic Big Mac is priced at €4.95, approximately 170 New Taiwan Dollars, which is considered affordable in Europe. Additionally, with any purchase, you receive a restroom code, allowing you to use the basement restroom for free.

Finally, in Porto, we got to try the legendary Portuguese 'soggy sandwich' Francesinha. This dish, introduced by French immigrants and later modified in Portugal, layers toast, ham, meat sauce, and cheese, topped with fries and drenched in a special sauce, resulting in a soggy, calorie-laden sandwich. Many restaurants in Porto's riverside area offer this dish, and we chose a specialty shop 'Rocinha - Porto'. The menu is plastered all over the wall at the entrance, and the prices are quite affordable. When the Francesinha was served, it was a visual shock. This sandwich is outrageous! Soggy and greasy, completely soaked in sauce, it looked so sinful. Cutting into it revealed layers of ham and meat patties, no wonder it's so substantial. It takes two people to finish it. As for the taste, it's not suited to Taiwanese palates. The sauce is too rich, and the cheese and other fillings are too heavy, making it hard to eat more than a few bites. It seems more suited for photos than for eating. Nonetheless, it was an achievement to unlock a local Portuguese delicacy.

Porto, also known as Oporto, is the second largest city in Portugal, with a history dating back to the 4th century BC. The Romans established an important trading port here, and "Portus Cale" is the origin of the name of Portugal. Porto's wine culture is well-known. Since the 17th century, Port Wine has become a world-renowned sweet fortified wine. The city is also known for its Baroque architecture and colorful tiles (Azulejos). If you want to take some nice photos, you must go for a walk along the Douro River. Strolling along the shore, the old town with red tiles and yellow walls is built against the mountain, with a staggered layout, like a fairy tale world. The ancient iron bridge spans the two banks, and the traditional wooden boats (Rabelo) on the river carry the historical memory of Porto wine. Spanning the two banks is the Ponte Luís I Bridge. Standing on this double-deck iron bridge designed by Eiffel's disciples in 1886, you can see the historic Old Town of Porto on one side and Vila Nova de Gaia on the other. The two face each other across the river, forming a unique urban landscape. In addition to the scenery of the Douro River, the following historical and cultural attractions in Porto are also worth visiting: 📍Porto Cathedral (Sé do Porto): One of the oldest buildings in Porto, it combines Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles. The old city stands high on the cliffs, facing the new city of Gaia across the river. One is old, the other is new; one is still, the other is dynamic. It seems to tell the past and present of the city, allowing you to travel through a thousand years of time at a glance. Stepping into the old town is like stepping into a historical maze. Every street here is like a piece of frozen history, winding and undulating. The stone roads underfoot are polished smooth by time, and every step allows you to feel the weight of history. The architectural styles along the streets vary, with Baroque, Gothic, and Neoclassical styles blending wonderfully here. Exquisite carvings and ancient doors and windows all tell of past glories. The church bells ring softly, echoing history, resonating in every corner of the city, calming the soul. As a World Heritage Site, the old town not only has architectural treasures but also the smoke and fire of life. The small shops along the street are filled with various unique handicrafts and delicious port wine. Port wine is the soul of Porto. It ferments and matures in oak barrels, just like this city settles and sublimates over time. Walk into a small tavern, order a glass of port wine, sit by the window, watch the bustling crowd and ancient buildings outside, and feel the simple yet colorful charm of this city. Before you know it, you will be intoxicated. As night falls, the banks of the Douro River are brightly lit. On the river, boats sail slowly, creating layers of golden ripples. The lights of the new city of Gaia on the opposite bank are reflected in the river, complementing the lights of the old city, creating a dreamlike scene. At this time, Porto sheds the hustle and bustle of the day, revealing a tranquil and mysterious beauty. Standing by the river, the sea breeze gently brushes your cheeks, carrying the breath of the Atlantic Ocean, as if telling the ancient stories of this city. Porto, a city favored by time, weaves a charming web with its historical weight, exquisite architecture, mellow wine, and Atlantic sea breeze, making everyone who comes here involuntarily intoxicated and unwilling to wake up.

This Se Catedral is part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, which brings together many original upscale hotels that cater to guests seeking reliability and value in independent hotels. I must say, the decor of this hotel is truly unique! Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The hotel is right next to the cathedral, and all attractions are within walking distance, so we didn’t spend any money on public transportation. If you’re taking a taxi from the airport, I’ve attached a guide (pictures 8–11) on how to get there easily through the metro, avoiding uphill climbs. Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Before check-in, the hotel emailed me a travel guide—so thoughtful! At check-in, I received a complimentary welcome drink and dessert, which were available for self-service. They even helped with the luggage. Other details can be seen in the photos ⬆️. Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m very sensitive about hotel cleanliness, especially the smell, which can really affect the stay. This hotel’s towels, pillowcases, etc., had no strange smells and were perfectly clean! The cleaning was thorough, and I couldn’t spot any dust. The water pressure was great, making showers very comfortable. You can stay here with peace of mind! Room: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I booked a Standard Twin Room, about 200 sqft. The only downside was that the bathroom was a bit small, but everything else was fine. I stayed for just three days, so size wasn’t an issue for me. Safety: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On our second morning, we left the room and didn’t hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign, as there was no sign on the door. When we came back, we found that the room had been tidied, including all the skincare and cosmetics we had left on the table. Though nothing was missing, I did feel uneasy knowing someone had entered the room without us knowing. This could’ve been avoided if I had informed the front desk. It’s not a major issue. Soundproofing: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m sensitive to noise when sleeping, and during my stay, aside from door opening and closing, I couldn’t hear any noise from neighboring rooms. I slept very soundly. Room Amenities: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Energy-saving and carbon-reduction measures are common in Europe, so most hotels don’t provide toiletries or kettles. This hotel didn’t have them either, but I called to request them, and they were delivered right away. Water can be refilled for free, just by calling. Surprise Factor: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ See picture 4️⃣. Overall Experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One sentence: If you’re coming to Porto, stay at this hotel! I’m very picky about hotels, and I can responsibly say this one is excellent! You can get to the airport for just 2 euros and 30 minutes! Main transportation: Andante Card, Siga Card (for CP trains only) However, I mostly walked around the city. The Porto Old Town is especially small, so it was good to walk around. Even if you go a little out of town, it's only 2 euros by bus..! 🏠Porto Accommodation It seems that many people stay long-term on Airbnb for a month. As of March 2022, it was about 1.1 million won! I stayed in a studio-type accommodation for a month, and the location is good for going anywhere if you stay near São Bento Station. 🤑Porto Cost of Living It seems cheaper than Spain. Eating out costs about 20 euros per meal on average?! (Not expensive restaurants, but be aware of individual differences) Groceries are very cheap, so if you live for a month, you can save money on food by cooking at home🫶🏽 In particular, meat and vegetables were really cheap. This stunning station is located in Porto and is a must-visit and popular check-in spot for tourists. São Bento Station has been around for a century, with its stone walls looking magnificent yet showing signs of age. As soon as you step into the station hall, you are struck by the giant murals made of blue and white tiles on all four walls, complemented by arched glass windows. It is simply breathtaking!
