The Profytodsd Tulip Festival is a breathtaking celebration of spring held annually in the Noordoostpolder region of the Netherlands. In 2025, the festival ran from April 18 to May 4, drawing tens of thousands of visitors to witness the region’s iconic tulip fields in full bloom.
Visitors explored the vibrant flower landscapes via specially designed routes: the Van Staveren car route (approx. 110 km) and the Specsavers cycling route (approx. 24 km), both offering scenic views of endless tulip fields in a rainbow of colors. These routes are updated every year, making each visit a unique experience.
At the heart of the festival, the Tulip Experience Field in Creil showcased over 1,900 tulip varieties in a beautifully curated show garden. A raised viewing platform provided a perfect photo opportunity, while interactive exhibits explained the history and cultivation of tulips. Children enjoyed educational activities with Bollie the Bear, the festival’s cheerful mascot.
On May 3 and 4, a creative market brought together local artists, craftsmen, and vendors offering tulip-themed goods, regional delicacies, and handmade souvenirs. Families enjoyed fun-filled activities like pedal tractors, a climbing wall, bouncy castle, and more.
To enrich the experience, visitors were encouraged to download the free Tulip Festival app, which featured interactive maps, audio stories, and background on the Noordoostpolder’s tulip-growing heritage.
Whether you’re a flower enthusiast, photographer, or simply looking for a joyful day out, the Profytodsd Tulip Festival offers a one-of-a-kind journey through the colorful heart of the Dutch countryside.
