Mount Emei: Start a journey of healing body and mind amidst the sea of clouds and Buddha's light
[Rose] In the southwest corner of China, there is a mountain that is like a shining pearl. It is Mount Emei. As one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, Mount Emei is like a majestic epic. It not only writes a magnificent chapter of natural wonders, but also carries a profound heritage of culture and faith. It is like an extraordinary paradise on earth, attracting countless people to embark on a journey of physical and mental healing.
[Rose] The four seasons of Mount Emei change, each with its own unique charm. In spring, mountain flowers bloom all over the mountains, red like fire, pink like clouds, white like snow, they sway gently in the breeze, as if telling the joy of life; in summer, this is a great place to escape the summer heat, the cool mountain breeze blows away the summer heat, making people feel relaxed and happy; in autumn, the forests are dyed with colorful leaves, like an overturned palette of nature, beautiful as a poem; in winter, Mount Emei turns into a fairy tale world of ice and snow, covered in silver, with jade trees and branches, as if entering a pure dreamland.
[Rose] Features and surprises
[Rose] The wonder of the Golden Summit is like a dream
[Rose] When the early morning light shines on me, I set out on the road to the summit, just for that beautiful sunrise over the sea of clouds. Standing on the Golden Summit, watching the sun slowly jump out from the rolling sea of clouds, the golden light instantly illuminates the earth, and the Buddha's light is looming, as if you are in the heavenly palace, making you forget the troubles of the world. The 48-meter-high statue of Samantabhadra shines brightly in the clouds, emitting a sacred and solemn aura, shocking everyone's heart.
[Rose] Monkey World, full of fun
[Rose] The ecological monkey area is a major feature of Mount Emei. Here, you can have an intimate interaction with the Tibetan macaques, the "indigenous people of Mount Emei". But be careful not to hold plastic bags, otherwise they may be snatched away by these clever monkeys. They are either jumping and playing on the trees, or foraging leisurely on the ground. Their lively appearance makes people laugh.
[Rose] The ancient temple is full of Zen, quiet and distant
[Rose] In Wannian Temple, the beamless brick hall has stood firm for thousands of years, and the Vairocana Buddha statue inside the hall exudes a mysterious and solemn atmosphere. Walking into here, it feels like traveling through time and space, feeling the quiet beauty of Tang Dynasty architecture, and your soul is purified in this ancient temple.
[Rose] Natural secrets, heavenly sounds
[Rose] At the Qingyin Pavilion double bridge, the black and white waters stir the Niuxin Stone, making a clear and pleasant sound that echoes in the empty valley, like a natural symphony. Standing there, closing your eyes, listening to this wonderful sound, you feel as if you are one with nature.
[Rose] Check in at the camera and capture the beauty
[Rose] If you want to take beautiful photos in Mount Emei that will go viral on your social media, you can’t miss these check-in spots. Stand on the steps right in front of the statue of Samantabhadra and use a wide-angle lens to shoot from a low angle, capturing the golden Buddha and the sea of clouds in the same frame. Take the photo one hour after sunrise or before sunset when the light is soft and has a "Buddha filter". Stand on the Niuxin Pavilion and shoot a bird's-eye view of the intersection of the two bridges. Use a tripod to shoot the flowing water with a slow shutter speed. Look up at the dome of the brick hall of the Wannian Temple. The symmetrical composition highlights the Zen spirit of the building. Use a telephoto lens to capture the agile moments of the monkeys in the monkey area. Be careful not to use the flash to disturb them.
[Rose] Intimate tips for worry-free travel
[Rose] The temperature difference at the top of Mount Emei is huge, so be sure to prepare a windproof jacket; the stone steps on the mountain are slippery, so wear non-slip shoes to ensure safety. In terms of transportation, you can choose high-speed rail for external transportation. It only takes 1.5 hours from Chengdu East to Emeishan Station, and a taxi costs 10 yuan to reach the scenic area. If you drive by yourself, it takes about 2.5 hours from Chengdu and navigate to the "Emeishan Visitor Center". Internal transportation includes sightseeing buses, which cost 90 yuan for a round trip, and cable cars from the Jieying Hall to the Golden Summit, which cost 65 yuan for the upward journey and 55 yuan for the downward journey.
[Rose] Someone said: "I was waiting for the sunrise at 5 a.m. in a down jacket. When the first ray of light penetrated the clouds and illuminated the golden Buddha, a stranger beside me whispered "Amitabha". At that moment, I suddenly understood what the "power of faith" was. When I was going down the mountain, a monkey brother robbed my mineral water. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but it became the most vivid memory." The beauty of Mount Emei is not only in the scenery, but also in those unexpected "worthwhile things in life", waiting for every traveler to experience it personally.
