11-Day Norway, Iceland, and Denmark Trip Cost Breakdown Here's a breakdown of my trip to the three most popular Nordic countries during the Lunar New Year. First, I should mention that I went with a friend, so the prices are split between the two of us. I consider myself to be quite frugal, so we stayed in hostels and shared rooms in all three countries, trying not to waste a single penny. 1️⃣✈💰CNY 9,625 for three countries. We went during the 2025 Lunar New Year, but booked in May 2024. The price of flights doubled after that, so we saved CNY 6,000–7,000. 🎫 I recommend booking flights to European countries in advance. It's actually cheaper to travel abroad during the Lunar New Year. The flights to these three countries were quite cheap. 2️⃣Hotels 🏨 I mostly booked hostels or budget hotels, which cost around CNY 100 per person per day. The prices in the photos are for two people, so divide by two. I shared a room with a few friends in Iceland, which cost CNY 500 per person per day. We could also cook together, which saved us some money on food. Iceland > Norway > Denmark. Any room in Iceland costs over CNY 1,000, and they're very small. I highly recommend the Fossil Hotel, which is right outside Stop 12. All the tours meet here, so it's very convenient and not expensive. 3️⃣Food + transportation, CNY 500 per person per day. Prices are highest in Iceland and Norway. Prices in Denmark are about the same as in China. We spent over CNY 1,000 on food every day. A taxi ride in Norway costs CNY 500, so try to use public transportation as much as possible. Public transportation is free for locals in Norway. 🆓 We took the bus a few times and no one checked our tickets. 4️⃣Tours. The most expensive part of the trip was the one- and two-day tours. The whale 🐳 tour cost CNY 2,000, and the two-day glacier lake tour cost CNY 4,000. Other one-day tours cost several hundred, such as the aurora, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and Golden Circle tours. We spent over CNY 20,000 on fixed costs before we even left for Northern Europe. Once we got there, we could only eat expensive Western food every day. I regret not bringing instant noodles. Luckily, we cooked with our friends at the hostel in Iceland. The smoke alarm even went off. We roasted chicken and lamb ourselves. Chinese food is the best. We spent a total of CNY 27,000. Compared to the CNY 50,000–100,000 trips to Iceland I saw online, I think I did a good job saving money.

This trip to Iceland was truly healing! But first, a small downside: the weather in Iceland is really unpredictable. One moment it's sunny, and the next it might rain or snow. However, these little surprises don't affect my love for this magical land at all. 😍 Here are some moments I want to share with you. [First Impression of Iceland] As soon as I got off the plane, I was amazed by the colorful houses in Reykjavik! The air was fresh and crisp. 🌬 In the evening, we went to the famous Harpa Concert Hall, where the lights reflected on the sea. It was absolutely stunning. [Golden Circle, Nature's Masterpiece] Exploring the Golden Circle, I was awestruck by nature's masterpiece! 🌋 The geological wonders of Thingvellir National Park, the eruption of geysers, and the grandeur of Gullfoss Waterfall left me in awe at every turn. 😱 [Blue Lagoon, Where Ice Meets Fire] I also experienced the famous Blue Lagoon, where ice meets fire! 🧊🔥 Soaking in the warm blue waters while surrounded by a snowy world is an indescribable feeling! 💧 And the silica mud mask at the Blue Lagoon made my skin super smooth. Ladies, you must try it! 🧖‍♀ [Glacier Hiking] Our guide took us glacier hiking. Wearing crampons and walking on the glacier, every step was filled with the unknown and excitement. Although it was a bit tiring, standing at the top of the glacier and overlooking the whole of Iceland made all the fatigue worthwhile. 💪 [Northern Lights Night] We went to see the Northern Lights! The green light danced in the night sky, as if we were in a fairy tale world. At that moment, all the waiting and anticipation turned into awe. The beauty of nature was so overwhelming that it brought tears to my eyes. 💚

Start your day early in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, where winter mornings are crisp and the streets are dusted with snow. After a warm breakfast at a local café, head to the Golden Circle, a popular route that takes you through some of Iceland’s most famous natural wonders. First stop: the Þingvellir National Park. Here, you can walk between the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia, a unique experience you can’t find anywhere else in the world. The park looks even more magical in winter, with its icy rifts and snow-covered landscapes. Next, drive to Geysir, where the active Strokkur geyser erupts every few minutes, sending hot water high into the cold air. The steam contrasts beautifully with the winter chill, creating a surreal atmosphere. Afterward, visit Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, where icy conditions create an even more dramatic scene, as frozen mist swirls around the powerful falls. In the afternoon, continue your adventure towards the south coast. Stop at Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, two stunning waterfalls that take on a magical, icy beauty in winter. If you’re feeling adventurous, walk behind the curtain of ice at Seljalandsfoss for a truly unique perspective. As evening falls, find a spot to watch the Northern Lights. With luck, you’ll witness the vibrant green and purple auroras illuminating the night sky—a perfect end to an unforgettable winter day in Iceland.

Took multiple day tours from #reykjavik to The #goldencircle, #snaefellsnes Peninsula, and the #southcoasticeland. The landscape and natural scenery in #iceland are breathtaking. Literally blown away by both the views and the winds there (it was really strong at some spots). I am thankful that the weather was good throughout the trip. It is even more beautiful on a clear sunny where you can see the colours of the sun and light shining on the white snow. And when there are no clouds to cover the magical #northernlights at night.

On the second day we set out for the blue secret waterfall Brúarfoss. It’s a super beautiful pink-blue color, exactly the same color as in the picture and different from what I expected. I checked in like crazy. It’s one of my favorite waterfalls in Iceland. Afterwards, we went to Thingvellir National Park, one of the three major attractions of the Golden Circle. We saw the junction of the Eurasian Plate and the North American Plate, as well as the waterfalls in the national park. The parking fee is a one-time fee, and you can park in any of the five parking lots throughout the day. Geyser Geyser is a must-see attraction, it is super magical. In recent years, Geyser has stopped erupting, and the Strokkur geyser next to it has become the protagonist. The height of the water column is about 15-20 meters, sometimes up to 40 meters. It erupts about once every 4-8 minutes. It is no surprise that it is hailed as one of the wonders of the world. It is super shocking! Finally we went to Gullfoss, the second largest waterfall in Iceland. There are double-fault waterfalls, divided into upper and lower waterfalls. The height difference is quite large, 11 meters and 21 meters respectively. #GlobalTravel
