Kurokawa Onsen is located in Minamioguni-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture. Minamioguni-machi has been famous for its recent revitalization efforts, but Kurokawa Onsen is still the backbone of the town! I stayed at an inn called Kiyashiki. It is no exaggeration to say that the quality of the spring water and the level of service are the best in Kyushu. If you are, it is very likely to be sleeping on the streets. The price of Kurokawa Onsen is about 1000-2500. It usually includes the first day of dinner and the next day's breakfast. The meal is very rich. There are two open-air hot springs in Kurokawa, three different types of family soups, and of course hot springs for tourists who are not. Guests can choose any hot spring bath for any length of time. Two of the open-air hot spring soups are exchanged in the morning and evening. That is to say, tonight I have a big open-air hot spring soup that is a female soup, so I can go to the small open-air hot spring soup in the morning to be a female soup. In order not to miss the experience of each soup, I chose Xiaoyu Yusi for 4 days! ! ! In the evening, make a soup of open-air soup, and another morning soup and family soup. When we visited, it coincided with the Lunar New Year, so there were a lot of Chinese and Taiwanese group tourists, and most of the hot springs refused to let us in on the same day, saying there were too many people. Yumerindo was the only place that accepted us. The price for the same-day hot spring at Yumerindo is 700 yen.

For those traveling to the Kyushu, Fukuoka area and want to experience an onsen but are not comfortable with public baths, I highly recommend Kurokawa Onsen. This charming onsen town offers several ryokans with private onsens. I chose Fumoto Ryokan, which costs around 11,000 baht for two people, including dinner and breakfast. Kurokawa Onsen is a lovely small onsen village with a great atmosphere. You can sleep to the sound of flowing water and enjoy delicious meals both in the morning and evening. The ryokan I stayed at has about 9 private onsen baths and 2 public baths separated by gender. If you're not staying overnight, you can buy a ticket for around 1,200 yen, which allows you to choose 3 public baths from all the ryokans in the town. However, private onsens are reserved for guests only. For transportation, I rented a car, but there seems to be a bus service from Fukuoka as well.
