Top Things to Do in Southport:
• Southport Pier: The second longest pier in Britain! Take a walk to the end for stunning sea views, and enjoy a nostalgic tram ride if you’re feeling lazy.
• Lord Street: A beautiful, tree-lined boulevard filled with boutique shops, cafes, and classic Victorian arcades — said to have inspired Paris’ famous boulevards!
• Southport Beach: Perfect for a breezy walk; at low tide, the sea can be surprisingly far away, creating a surreal landscape.
• Kings Gardens: Relax in these pretty gardens by the seaside, ideal for a picnic or just watching the world go by.
• Marine Lake: Rent a pedal boat, stroll along the waterfront, or simply sit by the lake for some peaceful moments.
Travel Tips:
• Best time to visit: Spring and summer (April to August) when the weather is mild and the flowers around Lord Street are in full bloom.
• Getting there: Direct trains run from Manchester Victoria/Manchester Oxford Road to Southport in about 1 hour 10 minutes. Driving takes roughly the same time.
• Food: Try traditional British fish and chips by the seaside, or relax in a cozy café along Lord Street.
• Bonus: If you visit in late August, you might catch the Southport Air Show — a thrilling seaside air display!

The classic British seaside town
The British seaside always prompts us to think about the holidays of times gone bar and there aren’t many place that still hold that nostalgia as much as the Merseyside town of Southport.
Here you will find all of the things which you would come to expect from the classic seaside amusement park, waterside gardens, a old wooden pier stretching out into the sea and of course a wide expansive beach.
Southport, however is home to more, with its delightful Victorian shopping street (rumoured to be what the Champs Elyse is based on) and wildlife reserve just outside the centre. #celebrateit #seaside #Fairground #beach #pier
Wandered through the enchanting landscape of Formby with the National Trust, where dunes danced to the rhythm of the Irish Sea. "Sands of Serenity" stretched beyond the horizon, a canvas painted with coastal hues and whispering pine trees. The red squirrels, elusive ambassadors of the woodland, played hide-and-seek amid the foliage. As I reached the shoreline, the echoes of seabirds and the scent of salt mingled in the air. Formby, not just a coastal haven but a National Trust sanctuary where nature's symphony unfolded in every rustle of leaves and crash of waves. #FormbyNatureHarmony #NationalTrustSerenade 🌲🌊
