You can also combine cycling and taxis; some greenway sections are excellent for cycling. • Time Allocation: Visiting all 10 spots takes a full day; it’s best to start before 9 AM. Wangfujing This mall has a supermarket with plenty of souvenirs and a cosmetics section (counter brands). It’s perfect for serious shopping. After exploring Kunming city center, we hailed a taxi to Kunming Tourism Ropeway (昆明旅游索道). The ride took about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at the cable car station, the ticket counter was clearly visible. 🎟️ First, we bought our tickets. The tickets we received were for the Kunming Tourism Ropeway (昆明旅游索道) cable car. The price was approximately 100 yuan per person 👉 This is a round-trip ticket. After purchasing the tickets, the staff will guide you to the entrance. Just hold your ticket and walk through the security gate; it's hassle-free and no advance booking is required. 🚡 The cable car boarding process: When it's your turn, the staff will call you to board in groups. The cable cars are enclosed cabins with clear glass all around. They are comfortable, stable, and not scary. Many people can board in one cabin. Once seated, the doors close, and the cable car slowly floats away from the station. 🌄 The journey itself…is the highlight. As the cable car ascends: • Below, you'll see trees, forests, roads, and smaller cars disappearing. • In the distance, you'll see a panoramic view of mountains, a lake, and the city of Kunming. • If the weather is good, the sky will be very clear, making for stunning photos. 🏞️ Destination: The cable car will take you to the observation deck at the top. At the top you can: • Walk around and take photos, and there's another attraction nearby: the Dragon Gate of Xishan Mountain. • Enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view. • Relax and breathe in the fresh air. There are small shops or resting areas at some points. You can spend some time strolling around at the top and then return to the cable car for the return trip using the same ticket. Taking the cable car down the same route, the atmosphere will be different because the perspective has changed. Ji Cha Abu's shop on Xunjin Street is absolutely stunning in its decor; it's like bringing a Yunnan granary into the store. Upon entering, you're greeted by a display of burlap sacks and haystacks, along with various glass jars filled with Yunnan rice. The slogan on the wall, "Feel the Yunnan rice with your hands," adds to the ambiance. The shop's layout is unique, with wooden beams and high ceilings, creating a retro yet stylish atmosphere. Every corner is photogenic. I ordered their signature fresh milk rice pudding. The milk flavor was incredibly rich, just like the rice pudding my childhood ate in Yunnan. The texture was incredibly smooth and melted in my mouth with every spoonful. The milk and rice flavors blended perfectly. I also tried the glutinous rice leaf rice pudding tea. The aroma of glutinous rice was very strong, and the rice pudding replaced milk, resulting in a sweet and fragrant flavor with a delicate rice aroma—a very unique taste. The "Jian Shou Qing" (a type of Yunnan green herb) flavored ice cream was more hype than substance. The "Jian Shou Qing" flavor wasn't very pronounced. While the ice cream itself was creamy, it felt a bit heavy and ultimately just okay. Overall, the ambiance was very unique, and the rice cake series was definitely worth trying. If you're looking for delicious food on a budget, this is the place to go! The restaurant is situated on the first floor of Xi Lou, right next to Cuihu Park—a fantastic location! After strolling around Cuihu, a bowl of hot rice noodles here is incredibly comforting. The interior decoration is distinctly Yunnanese, with wooden elements paired with red decorative walls representing the 24 solar terms, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. The window seats offer glimpses of the lush greenery of Cuihu Lake; while not as spectacular as Xi Lou's view, it's still quite stylish. The Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles are served on a large copper tray, with various fresh slices of meat and vegetables neatly arranged—the freshness is palpable, the soul of Yunnan Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles! The rice noodles are thick, soaking up the savory flavor of the piping hot wild mushroom broth. The broth is incredibly rich, with a wonderful aroma of wild mushrooms, almost identical to that of Xi Lou. Pour all the ingredients into the soup, and every sip is bursting with flavor. If you're not specifically looking for the spectacular view of Xi Lou, and simply want a bowl of authentic and delicious Yunnan Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles, this is definitely worth considering. The window seats, in particular, have excellent natural light and offer views of the street outside, making for great photos. The lighting is also soft, making for a comfortable dining experience. Unlike typical rice noodle shops that feel overly bustling, this place has a refreshing and clean atmosphere. The side dishes arrived in a tray filled with small bamboo compartments, containing shrimp, fish slices, chicken, and golden ear fungus, among other things. The ingredients all looked quite fresh, especially the golden ear fungus, which has a distinctly Yunnan flavor. I chose the thin rice noodles, which had a very smooth texture. The broth was quite flavorful, but I was a little disappointed with their signature Pu'er tea broth. I initially thought the tea aroma would blend seamlessly with the broth, but instead, they gave me an extra cup of brewed Pu'er tea. Adding it to the broth didn't impart any tea flavor. I hope the restaurant can find a way to truly infuse the Pu'er tea aroma into the broth in the future; that would be even better. If you're strolling around Nanping Street and looking for a nice place to eat rice noodles, Liangmishan is a good choice. The ingredients are fresh, and the environment is comfortable. It's just a little disappointing that they didn't quite capture the Pu'er tea flavor in the broth. Overall, however, it's still worth recommending.
