#Seaview #100 Ways to Travel Located in Hatsukaichi City in the southern part of Hiroshima Prefecture, it is conveniently located to JR Hiroshima Station by train to JR Miyajimaguchi Station, which takes about 30 minutes, or by tram to the last stop, Hiroden Miyajimaguchi Station, which takes about 75 minutes. Then go to the ferry terminal to buy a ferry ticket for ¥200 and Miyajima sightseeing tax of ¥100. Choose the JR West ferry route to and from Miyajima, which is closer to the Great Torii and more convenient for taking pictures of the Great Torii on the sea. The voyage takes about 10 minutes to reach Miyajima. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the ferry terminal to Itsukushima Shrine. There are many wild deer along the way (please do not feed them). When you arrive at the entrance of Itsukushima Shrine, you can buy a ticket for ¥300 to enter and visit. The worship route is one-way and you can walk around the shrine but do not go back. You can check the high and low tide times first, wait quietly on the shore for the tide to ebb and then walk to the Big Torii. Nature is really magical. Time operates quietly according to the rules. The tide rises when it is supposed to rise and ebbs when it is supposed to ebb. After the tide ebbs, the flat sand is exposed and it is safe to walk under the Big Torii. After the tour, we walked back from the shopping street behind Itsukushima Shrine. It is clean here without any peculiar smell of seafood. There are many restaurants and souvenir shops. You can taste the famous oyster dishes. This is probably the most delicious oyster I have ever eaten. It is fresh and has no peculiar smell. You can taste the salty taste of the sea. The price is very affordable and not particularly expensive. Finally, we took a boat back to Miyajimaguchi. I recommend it to everyone. The torii gate, which has undergone a major renovation in the Reiwa era, is beautiful in its vibrant vermilion color. The torii gate underwater at high tide is quite picturesque, but at low tide it looks a whole different way. You can walk right up to it and get a feel for its size. Miyajima is home to cultural heritage sites such as an aquarium, a ropeway, and temples and shrines, and is so full of sights that you could spend a whole day on the island alone. In recent years, activities such as SUP have also become more popular. There are also many souvenir shops and other establishments along the road, so it's fun to eat your way around. However, be aware that the shops close early in the evening and at night. It may be safer to eat dinner outside the island.

Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on Miyajima Island which is near Hiroshima. It is best known for its big floating torii gate . Miyajima can be reached by ferry from Hiroshima or from Miyajimaguchi- which is faster. after getting off at Miyajima guchi train station, simply walk toward the ferry pier. On the weekend there is often a large crowd so following them would likely lead you to the ferry terminal. There are two ferry companies running ferries between Miyajimaguchi and Miyajima; the JR ferry and the Miyajima Matsudai Kisen. Both have large passenger ferries and costs ¥360 round trip for the 10 minutes ride. there are four ferries per hour between 8-6pm, and less frequent schedules in the early and evening hours. After arriving to the island, turn right and walk for 10-15 minutes to reach the shrine. Weekends are particularly busy with tourists so getting there early would help. There are also many deer roaming around so beware of not feeding them with food- they will follow you! When visiting Miyajima Island in Japan, you have the option to climb up to Mt. Misen to see the whole island from its highest point. My favourite part of this journey is the breeze you get when you reach the very top. It was by no means a easy walk as paths aren’t properly crafted. On the way up to the peak you’ll see tons of geographical land formations, small temples and even mini statues that some people dress up! It is absolutely adorable! At the peak of the mountain there is a lookout point where you can enjoy the success of your trek up the mountain. Something cool about being here is that you can see the even smaller island where they grow and harvest oysters. I’ve been told that the way oysters are grown and harvested in Hiroshima is unique as they wait for them to weigh down the wooden planks before harvesting them. The Itsukushima Otori Gate is a sight to behold. It’s truly one of the most amazing pieces of history that you’ll ever come across. This gate is HUGE. It is truly massive. And it’s one of those things that you wouldn’t be able to understand until you actually visit it. I really enjoyed just being around it and talking to people about the history and cultural significance of it. This particular gate survived the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. On top of that significant history pointer, this gate is also a key cultural piece that acts as a gate between the human and spirit world.
