From noon, I was able to see and take pictures of the Goten Yatai floats from up close at the venue where they were on display, so it was great to be able to see even the intricate details of the decorations. As evening approached, people carrying matching happi coats gathered, and as the sound of Fueya drums began to ring, the Goten Yatai floats set off one by one. The town was filled with an overflowing wave of people, following behind the floats of their own town, cheering at the beauty of the Goten Yatai floats, the main event of the festival, and the power of being pulled around. It was so much fun that I'm definitely going to go next year.

I wanted to eat delicious seafood in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture! So I stayed at DAIWA ROYAL HOTEL THE HAMANAKO. In summer, wind chimes are displayed at the entrance, and they greet you with a beautiful sound every time you enter. The view from the room is excellent, with a great view of Lake Hamana. After taking a break at the hotel and admiring the view, I went to Unagi Kappo Yasukawa to eat eel from Lake Hamana for dinner. At first, I didn't know what the festival was, but I followed the crowd and found a line of people heading to the bus stop for the kite-flying venue. The Hamamatsu Festival is... "It's a celebration of the birth of the first child, and everyone in the community celebrates together, praying for the healthy growth of children." It's a "citizen's festival" that has nothing to do with the festivals of shrines and temples. The kite-flying is the main event during the day, with the participation of over 170 towns, and at night, the "Pulling of the Palace Float" takes place. It was my first time at the sand dunes, and the sand got in my feet so I was pretty exhausted. Walking through the sand dunes, you can see the sun setting into the sea. Climbing the steep sand dunes is harder than you'd think, so I recommend wearing sneakers. The kids were running around barefoot 🏃 Even if you make a detour to the nearby windmill park, you'll only stay for about an hour. Sweets Bank is a shop of Shungado, which makes the classic Shizuoka souvenir Unagi Pie, and houses a sweets shop, a cafe, and a branch of Iwata Shinkin Bank. The building seems to have been designed to resemble a large dining table, which symbolizes family gatherings. There were many cute objects, and it was a lot of fun to walk around and take photos♪ There were many chairs and tables inside the store, and many people were eating the sweets they purchased on the spot. We had the popular sweet Saki Claire at the shop Shungado, and took a drink from the cafe "Tora to Fusen" and ate it at a table here. This is a fulfilling route for a two-day, one-night trip to Shizuoka❤︎. Instead of basing yourself at Shizuoka Station, we've decided to base yourself in Hamamatsu (^^) Tottori isn't the only place to find sand dunes!! Nakatajima Sand Dunes, one of the three largest sand dunes in Japan, is surprisingly easy to access♡ The much-talked-about Dream Suspension Bridge was truly emerald green!! Be sure to try to go on a nice day♪

#ShizuokaTourism This is an amusement park located in Tateyamadera Onsenkyo, on the shores of Lake Hamana. The parking lot is large, so it's easier to go by car, but There is also a bus from Hamamatsu Station, which takes 45 minutes and costs 620 yen one way (April 2022). There are attractions that are typical of amusement parks, such as Ferris wheels and coasters, hot spring facilities, and a music box museum that can be reached by cable car, It's great that there is something for everyone, from children to adults. The admission fee is 1,200 yen for adults. There were various variations depending on your needs, such as one-day passes and tickets with hot springs. Unfortunately, it was cloudy this time, and it rained during our stay, and some attractions were canceled. If you want to enjoy it to the fullest, it's best to aim for good weather. There are plenty of restaurants and shops. However, the shops shown on the park map are temporarily closed, so it's best to check when you enter the park. Meals at the main restaurant are generally around 1,000 yen, and children's lunches start at 650 yen. There is also a wide variety of sweets. There is a flower park nearby, so it's a great place to relax and have fun.

Hotel Wellseason Hamanako is a hotel surrounded by nature, near Lake Hamana, near Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. There is an onsen for you to relax in. The hotel's restaurant is quite large and beautiful. There are many menus, especially grilled eel, which is very delicious. You can eat as much as you want. Another thing is that opposite the hotel, there is a small amusement park. This is the area around Hamamatsu Station, which I visited on October 8th. An event called the Yaramaka Music Festival was being held, and there were many people enjoying music and eating and drinking at the outdoor stalls. I wanted to eat Hamamatsu gyoza, but... there was also an event going on, so there were lines at the restaurants. Local specialties are popular, as expected!
