#100usdchallenge 📍 Location: Castelmola, Italy While I was on a holiday at Taormina the locals recommended me to visit the small village Castelmola. It is only roughly an hour bus drive away from the bus station of Taormina and the ticket was only €2 which is only $2.34 one way. Meaning for only $5 you have your return tickets sorted! What my friend and I did was walk down the lovely, colourful streets (more like orangey streets but nonetheless still very pretty!), visited a local bakery 🥯 🧁. We enjoyed the views you could see from the top. the Village is located very high on a hill and while looking down we could see Taormina. Of course we took endless photos and videos. Then we visited the old castle 🏯 🏰 which is few steps 🪜 above Castelmola (only half an hour easy hike). The entrance was free! - so far no money spent !!! well apart from spending $10 for a tiramisu because iIlove tiramisu. There was a farmer who stopped with his truck full of vegetables and fruits who got crowded and iIwent to queue there for strawberries! spent $2.93 for a packet/small bag of strawberries which were soooo sweet . total amount of money spent $17.93 ! just under $20 insanely amazing day! 💙 Castelmola is a very small village located on a cliff, about a 20-minute drive from Taormina. If you're visiting Taormina, I highly recommend stopping by. ♥️ How to get there: It's easy to reach if you have a car, but I took a bus from the Taormina bus station. 💛 Perched higher than Taormina, Castelmola offers stunning views of Taormina as well as Mount Etna. 💕 In this quaint village, enjoying an Aperol Spritz at a restaurant with a great view while admiring the scenery gave me a fresh perspective on Italy. 💙 On the way back to Taormina, I walked down. Exploring the small villages along the way made for a wonderful memory. It took about 40 minutes. I also encountered people walking up, but I personally couldn't manage the uphill climb 😂. If you plan to walk up, make sure to bring trekking shoes 😉.

#springwander 📍 location: just above Taormina, Italy If you think you cannot do the hike from Taormina that's okay. There is a way to reach this little beautiful village by public transport. You can grab the bus from the bus station, and the company name of the bus is Interbus. The ticket is only 1,90 euros or if you prebook it in advance online - 1,50 euros. And it takes only 15 minutes!!! How do I know this? I got tired from hiking up 😆😂, had to grab the bus on the way down, or I wouldn't have survived! The village is pretty and like any other city, spring 🌼🌱 is the best time to visit!
