All Moments About Bikaner
Junagarh F
Junagarh Fort (Bikaner, India) was constructed in the year 1593 by Raja Rai Singh. It is believed that crocodiles were bred in the water moat surrounding the formidable fort. The construction is a fine blend of Mughal, Gujarati and Rajput style of architecture. #givethanks #travelinspiration #historicallandmarks #newyearstrip #deliciousfood

Title: "Beyond the Sand: Discovering the Regal Wonders of Junagarh Fort"
#familytrip #localguides #historicallandmarks #familytrip #fort
When you think of Rajasthan’s forts, you imagine massive stone structures towering over hills—but Junagarh Fort in Bikaner breaks the mold. Unlike most Rajput forts, this one wasn’t built on a hill. Yet, it remains one of the most impregnable and richly decorated forts in India.
Constructed in 1589 AD by Raja Rai Singh, a general in the army of Mughal Emperor Akbar, Junagarh Fort is a fusion of Rajput, Mughal, and Gujarati architecture. With its sprawling courtyards, carved balconies, and elaborate stone latticework, the fort feels more like a grand palace than a military stronghold.
The interiors are truly the showstoppers. From the lavishly painted Anup Mahal, with gold leaf and mirror work, to the beautifully tiled Phool Mahal, each room is a masterpiece. Don’t miss the Badal Mahal, which has walls painted like monsoon clouds—a poetic escape in the middle of the desert.
Surrounded by a moat and mighty red sandstone walls, Junagarh has never been conquered, a testament to both its design and the bravery of Bikaner’s rulers. The on-site museum holds weapons, royal costumes, and even vintage aircraft from the princely era.
A warm thank you to trip.com for making my Bikaner journey so smooth. Their booking tools and travel guides helped me explore this underrated gem without a hitch.
If you're seeking a royal experience with fewer crowds and deeper stories, Junagarh Fort is a must-visit. It’s where desert elegance meets unshakable power.

Highlight of Rajasthan ✨
one of the very few forts that is not built at an elevated level and yet this fort has been unconquered despite multiple invasions. The fort architecture specially the walls and ceilings are a treat to the eyes reflecting a mix of hindu, moghul, british and european styles.
Bikaner also turned out to be a street food paradise and I literally unleashed the glutton in me over the kachoris, ghewars, rasgullas and of course Bhujiyas

Why is thi
Why is this Hindu temple dedicated to the teacher, who carved the story of Karni Mata on the bronze door at the entrance of the temple. Karni Mata is the embodiment of the right and the goddess of victory. It was originally an important object of the heavens, and it was accidentally made a mistake. Was caught in the human reincarnation. At some stage of her reincarnation, she was a patriarch and deeply loved her own people. One day, her adopted son died drowning in water. She pleaded with death to Yama, hoping to bring him back to life, and Death refused her request. She swears with a fist and swears: From now on, my people will never fall into the hands of death! The souls after their death will temporarily reside in the body of the mouse and return to the body with the birth of the newborn. Therefore, this temple was specially built to worship the mice, and every Bikaner also regarded the mice in the temple as their loved ones.
Traffic Strategy:
The famous Rat Temple is located in Deshnoke, 30 km away from Bikaner, at the LAL Bus Stand in Bikaner, from the hotel concentration area. Just 30 rupees to the station, 1 hour to Bisnell to Deshnoke, the fare is 26 rupees, not far from the rat is the temple.
Attractions Raiders:
rat temple do not take tickets, but the photo will receive 20 rupees of the ticket, you must take off your shoes, I believe that everyone on the floor full of mice will definitely have Psychological barrier, but there will be a foot cover at the door, 20 rupees.
