Dessert in Pushkar, India
This is definitely one of the most memorable experience for me and friends. we put up at a desert for a night on these beds under the stars. we didnt imagine gonna stay outdoor but it wasnt that bad. only mosquitoes the only complaint.
it was such a lovely night watching stars and moon above us. skies looking nice and the weather was fine.
It is totally different stay if compared to our previous hotels staycation. We were served rice and dhal bhaat. soo yummy. after that we were welcomed by the cultural activities such as traditional dance. Staff was very hospitable and friendly.
While the next morning, camels were anxiously waiting for us outside the compound for one hour camel ride
it was fun! we loved it
then we checked in into our next place for a night. went to restaurant for dinner and hit the sack

AJMER KHAWAJA GARIB NAWAZ
1556, Ajmer came under the Mughal Empire after being conquered by Mughal Emperor Akbar.[11] It was made the capital of the eponymous Ajmer Subah. The city enjoyed special favour under the Mughals, who made frequent pilgrimages to the city to visit the dargah of Moinuddin Chishti. The city was also used as a military base for campaigns against Rajput rulers, and on a number of occasions became the site of celebration when a campaign bore success. Mughal Emperors and their nobles made generous donations to the city, and endowed it with constructions such as Akbar's palace and the pavilions along the Ana Sagar.[12][13][14] Their most prominent building activities were in the dargah and its vicinity.[15] Jahanara Begum and Dara Shikoh, children of Shah Jahan, were both born in the city in 1614 and 1615 respectively.[16][17]
Mughal patronage of the city waned after the end of Aurangzeb's rule. In 1770, the Maratha Empire conquered the city, and in 1818, the British gained authority over the city.[11][18] Colonial-era Ajmer served as the headquarters of the Ajmer-Merwara Province and possessed a Central jail, a large General Hospital, and two smaller hospitals according to Gazetteer, 1908. It was the headquarters of a native regiment and of a Railway Volunteer corps. From the 1900s, United Free Church of Scotland, the church of England, the Roman Catholics, and the American Episcopal Methodists have mission establishments here.[19] At that time there were twelve printing presses in the city, from which eight weekly newspapers were published.[20]
At the time of Independence Ajmer continued as a separate state with its own legislature until its merger with erstwhile Rajputana province then called Rajasthan. The Legislature of Ajmer State was housed in the building which now houses T. T. College. It had 30 MLAs, and Haribhau Upadhaya was the first chief minister of the erstwhile state, with Bhagirath Chaudhary as the first Vidhan Sabha speaker. In 1956, after acceptance of the proposal by Fazil Ali, Ajmer was merged into Rajasthan to form Ajmer District with the addition of Kishangarh sub-division of Jaipur district.[21]

Ajmer – A Spiritual and Cultural Hub in Rajasthan
#favouriteitinerary
Ajmer, nestled in the Aravalli Hills, is a city rich in history, spirituality, and cultural heritage. It is best known for the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the revered Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, which attracts pilgrims from all over the world. The atmosphere here is deeply spiritual, with qawwalis (Sufi devotional songs) adding to the experience.
Beyond the dargah, Ajmer is home to the Ana Sagar Lake, a peaceful spot for boat rides and sunset views. The Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra, an ancient mosque with Indo-Islamic architecture, showcases the city’s layered history. The Akbari Fort and Museum, once the residence of Mughal Emperor Akbar, offers a glimpse into the past.
A short drive from Ajmer leads to Pushkar, famous for its sacred lake and the only Brahma temple in India. Whether for its deep spiritual significance or its historical charm, Ajmer remains a city that beautifully blends devotion and heritage.

Ajmer
Ajmer in Rajasthan, India!
It is the last stop on the express train from Delhi and takes about 4 hours.
This city is a holy place for Muslims.
There is a large cathedral called Khwaja Ghalib Nawaz Dargah Sharif.
Non-Muslims can enter, but if you are worried, it might be a good idea to ask someone nearby to enter with you.
You can understand how Muslims pray.
There is also a golden Jain temple nearby, which is also a must-see.
Ajmer is a city with few foreign tourists, so I hope it will become more popular in the future ☺️
