We have been many times in Moganshan, and after you visit what is worth to see, this place is nice even to go and simply do...nothing! You can relax and stroll out to enjoy the landscape and the fresh air, to escape for a while from the bustle of Shanghai. We had a pleasant weekend at the Joyous resort, a cozy villa immersed in the green landscape of Moganshan. The Hotel, managed by two enthusiastic guys, is very well kept, and despite it's reachable only by a narrow path 100m long, they provide shuttle service from the parking with a golf cart. Once up at the hotel, the place is the quiet cradle you have been desiring for the whole week, and a perfect starting point to visit Moganshan. The family Loft we lived in is simply great, full of light, and with an inspiring skylight. The breakfast is good, with only chinese options though, but they serve coffee as well. I learned about this resort in 2018 and it had been on my bucket list to stay in the dungeon. It exceeded my expectations! The dungeon came with bed shackles, handcuffs and a whip 😂 Service was lovely and the dinner was delicious. This resort is an easy train ride from Shanghai or Beijing to Deqing. I also can’t say enough about the spa at the resort. It was easy to book, they accommodated our last-minute request. Definitely a must-go.

I had wanted to stay at this retreat since 2018 and was so excited to finally make it! The service is excellent and the bungalow was gorgeous. The dinner was delicious and more fancy than expected. Everything was perfect other than the horse riding. I thought we would be going trail riding but the activity was unavailable so we rode the horses on a course for 15 minutes. Despite this disappointment, I would come back again!
