I drove 100 km at 2 am to the beautiful Xianju Peak. The quiet night and gentle breeze brought a coolness to the hot summer. The starry sky and vast forest calmed my restless heart.
I climbed the mountain path in the dim starlight. Looking around, I felt the same joy as Xu Tang's poem: "I walk up the bird path, not knowing how high I am." At the top, a Guanyin Temple stood on the cliff, silently telling the story of time.
Soon, a red-orange light appeared in the east, a sign that the sun was about to rise. As time passed, the light turned orange-red, bright red, and light red, until a golden light broke through the clouds and shone on the forest. The clouds dispersed, and my heart was filled with excitement.
"Seeing the sun through the clouds" is not just an encouragement from the past, but a summary of experience. Only by clearing the clouds can we see the beauty. So, watch the sunrise, find your heart in the beautiful forest, find hope in the dazzling sunlight, and move forward with renewed faith.

1️⃣Self-driving: 5.5 hours from Chengdu, 4 hours from Chongqing
2️⃣High-speed rail: Take the high-speed rail to Hanzhong Station or Bazhong Station, and transfer to a bus to Guangwushan Mountain

I've always wanted to go! Finally arranged with friends, and it turns out this is the legendary Windmill Mountain. It's truly stunning!! You can drive straight to the top, with windmills, sunrises, sunsets, and a sky full of stars. It's a fairyland!
Anyone who hasn't been must arrange a trip. On the way up, we encountered many cows blocking the road, giving a feeling of being in Xinjiang, haha...
Xiaogan Dawu Xianju Peak
About 1.5 hours drive from Wuhan
Travel tips:
1. You can drive all the way to the top. On the way up, there will be many cows and sheep, so be careful to avoid them while driving.
2. It's pure wilderness with no commercial traces, which means no public restrooms! You can carry a lightweight backpack with some water and food to make your trip easier.
3. This place is perfect for watching the sunset and sunrise, but make sure to choose a clear day. Arrive by 5 PM, and the sunset starts around 6:30 PM. To watch the sunset, find the right direction using your phone's compass to look west.
4. After the beginning of autumn, the temperature on the mountain is very low in the morning and evening. You can choose a three-in-one jacket like mine for warmth and protection. It has a detachable liner, suitable for three seasons. If you spill water on yourself in the car, just pat it dry, and it will disappear. It's definitely rainproof.
5. There are many spacious places here suitable for camping and barbecuing, but there is indeed a lot of trash. Please make sure to take your garbage with you!

✅Xiaogan Xianju Peak
Xianju Peak, with an altitude of 680 meters, is one of the four famous mountains in Dawu, known as 'Dafengkou'! It wasn't until the sun came out that I realized why the landscapes in the eyes of great men are so charming.
Xinmin Village
The crystal-clear pool water reflects a serene blue hue, forming a breathtaking scenery with the mountain cliffs, especially beautiful! It is known as Hubei's 'Semporna' and 'Maldives'!! A super beautiful lake!!

Recommended route: Hiking + Boat ride!! Hike to Yingxia scenic area, enjoy the emerald green river water, the beautiful mountains, and the azure blue sky along the way... Take a speedboat from Ruanlanggui Pier, and admire the beautiful lake and the Guanheyan Dam along the way... The atmosphere is full, once again marveling at the natural wonders of nature!!
Three Gorges Tribe: Traditional stilted buildings are scattered among the mountains, the long-missed black-awning boats are moored by the great river, and the forgotten Palace of the Ba King stands in the jungle, offering a beautiful view at every step, truly a picturesque Three Gorges scenery!

Pingshan Canyon: Pingshan is surrounded by deep streams on the side, with Longyuan Gorge, Duobi Gorge, and Diaoyan Gorge standing steeply around it, like an island sailing through the vast green waves and emerald mountains of Wuling's hinterland, known as the 'Oriental Noah's Ark'.
Recommended route: Canyon plank road - Suspended boat (recommended) - One-Line Sky (take a boat through the canyon) - Trail inside the mountain cave (the canyon heart gesture is right here) - Return to the scenic area entrance
Shibatang Scenic Area (Dawu, Hubei)
Shibatang, located in the northwestern part of Dawu County at Sanlicheng Town, is home to the 'Ten-mile Cascading Waterfalls and Echoing Pools', hidden deep within a hundred miles of surrounding mountain ranges. The deep mountain gorge of Dawu Shibatang, over 10 kilometers in length, has been sculpted by nature into a series of stunning pools including Baimatan, Heilongtan, Huxiaotan, Xiangshuitan, Miletan, Guanyintan, and Qidietan, among the total of eighteen picturesque pools.
To the south of Shibatang lies Jingchengzhai, to the west it is supported by Wufeng Mountain, and to the north it leans against Guangtushan. The trickling streams from the mountain ravines converge into a river. In the crystal-clear streams, one can see playful sand-burrowing fish and spot the pristine white pebbles at the bottom of the pools.

Dawu Jinling
This is the hometown of General Xu Haidong, where you can find the earthen brick houses that were only seen in childhood. Poverty alleviation has allowed them to move into new homes, and the old houses have become a tool for the villagers to get rich. It is said that on weekends or during the peak season, it was once difficult to find food, lodging, and parking spaces. However, this place is indeed a good destination for those who have been living in the bustling city but also enjoy a moment of tranquility.

Jinling Village, Dawu, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, a beautiful place
Dawu is known for its Chinese tallow trees, most of which are concentrated in the reservoir of Pengdian Township, Xincheng Town, Xiadian Town, Sigutown, and Liuji Town.
The first stop is Jinling Town, Dawu, walking back from afar.
The second stop is the North Mountain Red Leaf Cultural Square in Sigutown.
If there is enough time, you can also go to Xianjuding to watch the sunset before returning to Wuhan.
Each scenic spot is half an hour's drive away.
Jinling Town is a simple old village that has been restored as it was, with guesthouses, restaurants, coffee shops, tea rooms, and children's playgrounds.
Many buildings were built in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, suitable for photography.
There are many guesthouses inside with prices around two to three hundred.
The North Mountain Red Leaf Square in Sigutown is the main spot for autumn viewing in Dawu, where there are the most Chinese tallow trees. We arrived late and the leaves had fallen off. Next time we should come in early November and take pictures in the misty morning.
A feature of Dawu is that there are free scenic spots along the way. And the roadside villages and rice fields are also quite photogenic.
If there is enough time, you can go to Xianjuding to watch the sunset before returning to Wuhan.
If you have two days, you can arrange it like this:
1. Camp at Xianjuding on the first day, watch the sunset on the mountain, and after watching the sunrise on the second day, immediately go down the mountain to Sigutown to photograph the Chinese tallow trees in the early morning, and return to Wuhan in the afternoon after going to Jinling Town. (Setting up and taking down tents and cooking food is a bit tiring, suitable for experienced players with good physical strength)
2. Visit Jinling Town during the day on the first day, eat and stay here. Go to the North Mountain Red Leaf Square in Sigutown to see the Chinese tallow trees in the morning of the second day, and go to Xianjuding to watch the sunset in the afternoon before returning to Wuhan. (Eat at nearby farmhouses, stay in guesthouses, not tired, suitable for family outings)
