The lake is as shy and beautiful as a young girl, hence the nickname "Lake of Seventeen-Year-Old Girls". The purpose of setting up a tent and staying overnight at Songluo Lake is to leisurely enjoy the time passing by in the mountains. At dawn and dusk, Songluo Lake is shrouded in gauze-like clouds and mist, appearing and disappearing, like a dream. Only those who camp overnight are lucky enough to take a peek. Even though Songluo Lake changes its shape and appearance in various ways (full water or dry season), people can always find the innocent fun of their childhood when they are there.

During the Japanese colonial period, it was called "Asahi Ze" or "Jiuzhi Ze". The Japanese named it because a stream valley passed through it, forming a swamp, and a large number of pigeons could be seen flying in the sky every morning. Zhen'an Temple is dedicated to the worship of Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong). It is the highest temple in Yilan County and a historical building. During the logging period, it served as an important faith center for local residents and loggers. Today, it is a place of historical and cultural significance within the recreational area, offering a sanctuary for spiritual solace. Pengpeng Wild Stream Hot Spring is located in Pengpeng Creek, Yingshi Village, Datong, Yilan. It is a relatively easy-to-reach place among all the wild stream hot springs in Taiwan. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the wild stream hot spring. The hot spring area is vast, with more than a dozen hot spring pools of various sizes. Many people come here to camp. It was my first time to Pengpeng Hot Springs, and I felt like I was back in Australia.
