Yes, there probably some seller trying to set a higher price for tourist but it’s an experience that you’ll hardly experience again. If you are a person with good negotation skills, you can definitely try asking for some better price. I noticed that most of the stall busy selling traditional handicraft, light snacks, local foods but of course there were also many other options as well. Back to my own experience, apart of shopping from our boat, we were also able to step out of our boat and take a quick visit at this temple, Wat Charoen. You could check the maps on the whole market and discuss with the boat owner if you could stop on some spot for quick visit. Just keep in mind that the boat are rent by hour.

I booked a day trip to the floating market and the train market through trip.com. We booked for a private transfer to both markets. We were picked up from our hotel at 9am and taken to both. Our driver spoke good English and was also very kind and helpful. He made sure we were comfortable and shared a lot of information with us about both markets. The floating market was super busy (we arrived around 11:30). We were taken to the boats and driven along the canals until we reached the shopping area. If you want to stop and look at the stores, you need to speak up! The same goes for food and drinks. Otherwise you’ll float along without the chance to see much. 🤭 Note that most stores have similar items to sell and the price is higher, but it is on the water, and there are many tourists. You can use your bargaining skills to barter with the store owners. Overall for my first visit here, it was sad to see how quiet the pandemic has made this market due to a lack of stores open. However, it's also presented a great opportunity to explore without the crowds with an off the track experience available from visiting the old market where there's a more rustic and authentic experience with the community.

I visited Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. I will write about the good and careful points there. Firstly, it was a great experience of floating market. I went there, and ride a boat. I bought some souvenirs and foods, it was a bit expensive compared to other markets though. (I felt this market is for tourists, not for local people) Secondly, I went there by bus, but the arrival point is not a correct place of market. There are some people to say me it’s a floating market, and even there is titles of Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. However, the prices were so expensive. I walked to the original place and ride a boat. Be careful about it. #bangkoktrip
