Getting There - Car 🚗 from Glasgow to Dunfermline is about 1hr. Attractions - Andrew Carnegie Birthplace museum Hotels - N/A Food & Restaurants - The Old Inn, Fresh Café We went to Dunfermline from Glasgow. It took us an hour to get there. We parked at the car park near Dunfermline abbey and palace. Since we went there on Sunday, there was a church service, so we were not able to visit the abbey. After that, we went to a café called Fresh. There were a lot of people and the view is quite nice on the first floor! Highly recommend this old town in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

My visit began at Dunfermline Abbey, a striking masterpiece of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Its towering stone pillars and intricate carvings spoke of centuries past, and as I stepped inside, I felt the weight of history around me. The abbey is the final resting place of Robert the Bruce, Scotland’s legendary king, whose tomb lies beneath its grand interior. Standing before it, I reflected on his role in shaping Scotland’s destiny. The ruins of the adjoining medieval palace, once home to Scottish monarchs, revealed glimpses of royal life. From its weathered stone walls, I imagined Mary, Queen of Scots, as a child in these very halls. Inchcolm Island is a charming island near Edinburgh, famous for its picturesque island scenery and unique coastline. I had the pleasure of visiting this island and was struck by its beauty and tranquility. First of all, Inchcolm Island is endowed with fairyland-like beauty by nature. When I stepped onto the island, I was greeted by lush green woods and gardens filled with birdsong and flowers. I strolled around the island, admiring the beautiful coastline and blue water, and felt the tranquility and beauty of nature. Secondly, Inchcolm Island has a unique coastline topography. The rocky cliffs, strange caves and cliffs make this island full of adventure fun. I visited some of the caves and discovered the many plants and animals that live in this environment, which was an amazing experience. Inchcolm Island also has an ancient abbey, which is one of the island's most important historical heritage sites. I visited the monastery and felt the religious atmosphere of the past and the heavy sense of history. In this peaceful place, I could imagine the monks’ lives and beliefs. In addition, there are some comfortable facilities on the island for tourists to rest and enjoy the scenery. I sat on a bench by the sea, admiring the seagulls flying in the distance and the sound of waves hitting the shore. It was a refreshing moment. It was the capital of Scotland before. It took us an hour to go there by car. There is a parking place near the abbey which is quite convenient to walk to city centre. I would recommend people who wants to go there could spend a day or two to enjoy the tranquility there!
