Beautiful summer flowers 🇪🇸
#summerdestinations
Taking a walk through Cudillero, Spain, during the summer is very beautiful 🌸. This small fishing village on the northern coast is absolutely brimming with charm. As I wandered through the narrow streets and winding alleys, I was surrounded by an explosion of summer flowers 🌷. Bougainvillea draped over the brightly colored houses, while pots of geraniums lined the balconies, turning every corner into a picture-perfect scene.
What I loved most about Cudillero was how every twist and turn of the street revealed another hidden gem. The flower-lined steps leading up to the viewpoints offered stunning views of the red-tiled rooftops and the glistening sea beyond 🌊. No entrance fee required to explore these charming streets – just a good pair of walking shoes and a sense of adventure!
Along the way, I stumbled upon the Plaza de la Marina, a lively square filled with cafes and restaurants. Here, I took a break and enjoyed some fresh churros with a cup of thick hot chocolate ☕. The plaza was buzzing with life, but still maintained that relaxed, easy-going vibe. For flower lovers, a must-visit spot is the Jardines del Palacio Selgas, just a short drive away, where the beautifully manicured gardens make you feel like you've stepped into a fairytale 🌹.
Cudillero’s flowers are more than just decoration; they are a symbol of the town’s warmth and character. Each bloom seems to reflect the joy and pride of the locals, making a simple walk feel like a celebration of nature’s beauty. Whether you’re a plant enthusiast or just looking to soak in the atmosphere, Cudillero in the summer is a feast for the senses. Can’t wait to return!

Fishing of the coast of Spain 🇪🇸
#summerdestinations
My recent fishing trip in Cudillero, Spain, was an absolute delight! 🎣 This charming fishing village on the Asturian coast is the perfect spot for those who love the sea and want a taste of traditional Spanish culture. The picturesque harbor is lined with colorful houses that seem to spill down the hills into the water, creating the perfect backdrop for a day of fishing. The best part? There’s no fee to fish here if you have your own gear, making it an affordable and laid-back experience 🐟.
I set up my spot right on the pier, where I could watch the local fishermen bring in their catch and listen to the seagulls overhead. The waters are rich with a variety of fish, and it's easy to see why this has been a fishing hub for centuries. The locals are super friendly and happy to share tips. I managed to catch a couple of mackerel and even a sea bass – the thrill of reeling them in with the village as my backdrop was unforgettable! 🌊
After a morning of fishing, I treated myself to a meal at one of the cozy seafood restaurants near the harbor. The grilled sardines were fresh and delicious, perfectly paired with a glass of cider 🍷. If you’re planning a visit, I’d also recommend taking a stroll up to the Mirador de la Garita, a viewpoint that offers stunning panoramic views of the village and the ocean. Nearby, Playa del Silencio is a secluded beach perfect for a post-fishing relaxation session 🏖️.
Cudillero’s charm lies in its simplicity and authenticity. It’s a place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to enjoy every moment fully. Whether you’re an avid angler or just looking to enjoy some peace and quiet by the sea, this village is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back for another fishing adventure!

Beautiful costal village 🇪🇸
#summerdestinations
My visit to the small fishing village of Cudillero in Spain felt like stepping into a postcard 😍. Nestled between the cliffs and the sea, this charming spot is truly a hidden gem along the Asturian coast. Wandering through the narrow, winding streets with colorful houses stacked one above the other was such a delightful experience! The views from above are absolutely stunning – don’t miss the Mirador de la Garita, where you can get a breathtaking panoramic view of the village and the Atlantic Ocean 🌊.
There’s no entrance fee to visit Cudillero itself, which makes it a perfect destination for a budget-friendly day trip. I spent my time exploring the harbor area, watching the fishing boats bobbing on the water, and enjoying the fresh sea breeze. For lunch, I grabbed a table at one of the seafood restaurants lining the harbor and indulged in a plate of freshly caught calamari and a glass of local cider 🍋🍤. It was simple but delicious – the kind of meal that makes you fall in love with a place even more.
Nearby attractions include the Playa del Silencio, a secluded beach about 20 minutes away by car, which is perfect for a peaceful escape. And if you’re into hiking, the Ruta de los Miradores is a scenic trail that offers more stunning views of the coastline and surrounding hills 🌳. Back in the village, don’t forget to visit the Gothic-style church of San Pedro, which adds a bit of history to the mix.
What really stands out about Cudillero is its tranquil, authentic vibe. It hasn’t been overrun by tourists, which means you can still experience the genuine culture of a traditional fishing village. The friendly locals, beautiful architecture, and natural scenery all made my visit here unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back!

Cudillero, a beautiful village
One of my hidden gems that I always recommend if any of my friends go to Asturias is visiting the village of Cudillero. This village has some amazing architecture where all the houses are painted and it looks like they are build without planning but the overall picture of all the houses together just works. You should come and enjoy a walk though Cudillero’s streets.

Cudillero, a small village you should visit
Cudilleros is a small village in Asturias. I was lucky to be here recently. I would highly recommend visiting this beautiful village as the food here is amazing. You have fresh fish coming directly from the ocean. In my stay there I had sea bass. It was cooked beautifully and it tasted as fresh as it could get. If you’re coming to Europe this is a hidden gem.

Cudillero: The Hidden Gem of Spain's Northern Coast
While Italy's Cinque Terre is world-renowned, Spain has its own charming version known as Cudillero, located in the northern part of the country. 😎
Cudillero is adorned with vibrant, colorful houses. You can walk up the winding pedestrian paths, and although the roads are narrow, you can feel the village's simplicity and the warmth of its residents along the way! The scenery changes from different angles, offering a myriad of views. 🧡 The best viewpoint is, of course, the highest point of the town. From there, you can gaze upon the quintessential Cudillero landscape—layers of orange-roofed houses with a vast blue ocean in the distance. This view alone is enough to lift your spirits. 🎈
The best itinerary is to have no plan at all. Just wander through the maze-like pedestrian paths of Cudillero and soak in the unique charm of this small town. 😝😝😝
An Underrated Holiday Gem

The Asturias is a unique region in northern Spain that has its own language, culture and food. It has some of the best sceneries in northern Spain. I was lucky to enjoy some hiking trails with friends in the picos de europa. There is a lot of greenery to be found here.
Those green pastures explain why the region is known for dairy products. More articularly milk, cheese and yoghurts, and has even earned the nickname of Pais de Quesos, Land of Cheeses. One of the most popular is cabrales – a blue-veined cheese made from a mixture of cow’s, goat’s and sheep’s milk. There’s even a cheese route you can follow, to visit dairy farms and see how it gets made, including how it’s aged in ancient cheese caves.
The capital city is a wonderful destination with medical churches, monuments and a lively restaurant scene. Gijon on the coast is another worthy stop I can remember. The best part are those seaside towns. The more popular ones being Lastres and Cudillero. I don't even know how i still remember those names. But a holiday to this hidden gem of a region comes recommended. #hiddengems #asturias #northspain #vivaespania
