During a rainy day in Cape Town, we decided to visit Groot Constantia. While it is very touristy, it was nice to see one of the oldest vineyards in Cape Town. Dating all the way back to the 1680s, the wine played a pivotal role in the economic success of Cape Town and help put the city on the map for wine production. We did the chocolate and wine pairing which was very delicious. There are several nice restaurants on site for a lunch. Be aware that this is the only winery that is on the CT hope on hope off bus, as the other two wineries are either privately owned or closed for repairs.
