hurry up, the airport of Con Dao island is going to be re
last week I went to Con Dao island of Vietnam with some friends. The cool breeze and quietness of this island are never changed. Beyond all is the hospitality and generosity of my local friends who got all their best harvest to treat us.
there are historical tourist attractions and also modern place to visit here. No doubt that the family of Angelina Jolie came here last 2011 due to the charming beauty of this island
FYI: soon, travellers need to get there by minimum 3hour ships because the municipal airport is going to be expanded

Resort feel nice hotel
The Secret was an unexpected gem. Great value for money, the hotel is clean and the rooms are very well equipped. The only thing is that there's no door to the bathroom area so the room isn't great for 2 people who aren't too close to each other.
The hotel has a nice pool that's great for lounging around. However just know the area immediately around the hotel is quite quiet so food options are a bit limited.
There's also a great shuttle service to/from the airport where they pick you up. However the return is around 3 hours before the flight and there really is nothing at the airport so keep that in mind.
A very nice, quiet hotel with good facilities at a very affordable price.

Dreamy Sapa
This was Vietnam Sapa, Cat Cat Village in November 2022! Was a very beautiful dream like area with amazing views, definitely enjoyed our times there a lot! We spent around 2 hours in the village.
It was a home for six days
Six Senses Vietnam beachside villas, set against the dramatic background of Lo Voi Mountain and surrounded by tropical gardens, keep a charming spirit and traditional local touches while showing contemporary flare and all the mod cons. The golden sands of the island serve as nesting grounds for sea turtles, and the only sound is birdsong.
It is in a protected national and marine park, this is a stunning setting. It is the first top-rated beach resort in Vietnam's archipelago islands, with a modern style that pays homage to a traditional fishing town. We're only a 45-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City, but we're a world away from the mundane. Oh, and there's that golden sand and sapphire-blue sea.

Con Dao Islands
#vietnamtrip The Con Dao Islands, an archipelago off the southern coast of Vietnam, are a hidden gem offering pristine natural beauty, rich history, and a tranquil atmosphere. Known for their crystal-clear waters, unspoiled beaches, and lush forests, the islands are perfect for travelers seeking a peaceful retreat away from the bustling mainland.
The main island, Con Son, is the heart of the archipelago. Its beaches, like Dam Trau Beach and Bai Nhat, boast powdery white sand and calm turquoise waters, ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The surrounding coral reefs make Con Dao a hotspot for diving, where you can explore vibrant marine life, including sea turtles and tropical fish.
Beyond its natural beauty, Con Dao has a haunting yet fascinating history. During the French colonial and Vietnam War eras, the islands served as a prison for political detainees. Visiting the Con Dao Prison and the Hang Duong Cemetery provides insight into the resilience and sacrifices of Vietnam’s freedom fighters, making it a profoundly moving experience.
For nature enthusiasts, the Con Dao National Park offers hiking trails through dense forests where you can spot unique wildlife, including the endemic black squirrel and rare birds. The park also protects sea turtle nesting sites, and from May to September, visitors can witness turtles laying eggs—a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The islands remain relatively untouched by mass tourism, which adds to their charm. While accommodations range from luxurious resorts like Six Senses Con Dao to simple guesthouses, the overall vibe is laid-back and serene.
Whether you’re exploring historical landmarks, enjoying water activities, or simply unwinding on a quiet beach, the Con Dao Islands promise a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural depth. It’s a paradise waiting to be discovered.

Con Dao Island - a historical chilling trip
You can arrange to travel to Con Dao around March to September. At this time, the weather is quite nice even though it is the rainy season but the sea is quite calm, the rains do not last long, very suitable for participating in activities. At sea, especially this is the season when turtles from everywhere come to Con Dao to lay eggs.
From October to February, you will enjoy a sunny space, a calm, clear blue sea with beautiful scenery, because this is the dry season in Con Dao.
However, note that if you go at this time, you should avoid the waters of Con Son Bay because this place often has big waves due to the influence of northeast winds.
In Con Dao, there is no public transportation such as buses, you need to actively take a taxi or rent a motorbike to get around.
However, if you choose a taxi, it is not very popular because taxi companies in Con Dao are rarely exploited, so you can almost only ride a motorbike or catch a motorbike taxi.#cherryblossom #freehotelstay
Con Dao island
"Con Dao Island, a hidden gem off Vietnam's coast, offered a serene escape. The pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters welcomed with tranquility. Exploring historical sites like Con Dao Prison shed light on the island's poignant past, providing a somber yet insightful experience.
Venturing into the lush national parks, I discovered diverse flora and fauna, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts. The laid-back atmosphere, coupled with local seafood delights, added a delightful touch to the trip.
Con Dao Island proved to be a harmonious blend of history, natural beauty, and relaxation, leaving me with a deep appreciation for this off-the-beaten-path destination
The most beautiful small island next to Ho Chi Minh City
Coming to Ho Chi Minh City was mainly for taking a flight to Côn Island, which is a short 45-minute journey and only two daily flights. It's known that during the colonial period under French and American rule, this island served as a prison for Vietnamese revolutionaries, so there are still many remnants of old prisons on the island.
There were no specific plans for the trip to Côn Island; it was primarily for relaxation at the hotel. On the first day, after checking in, we spent time swimming and having a spa at the hotel. In the evening, we ordered grilled chicken breast and braised pork, which were incredibly delicious, especially the fragrant pork. Since the island is dedicated to protecting sea turtle nesting, the lighting is kept quite dim in the evening. The general manager immediately brought numerous candleholders, fearing we wouldn't see well, and even thoughtfully provided mosquito repellent.
On the second day, the hotel arranged a small island tour for us. We traveled in a business vehicle with a guide who took us to visit the local market, which was quite small. However, the prices were relatively high due to the island's small size, and most vegetables and fruits had to be shipped in from other places. Even though Côn Island is small, it has schools, hospitals, convenience stores, and coffee shops. We even saw a fashionable clothing store on the main street where you could buy swimsuits. During the island tour, we visited five places: two temples, the spectacular Shark Bay, the island's pier, and finally, a local coffee shop. Our guide and driver even played unfamiliar guitar tunes at the coffee shop and sang us local songs. I recognized a song that I had heard on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, and even though it was just a short recording, he sang it for me, which was incredibly touching. On the way back, we also encountered a group of monkeys, which was quite interesting. I highly recommend the small island tour.
On the third day, we experienced various water activities, including surfing, kayaking, and diving, and wrapped up the day with an open-air movie under the night sky.
If it weren't for time constraints, one could easily spend much longer on the island. On the fourth day, it was time to fly back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Con Dao Island
Côn Đảo is an ideal destination for young people who like to explore pristine nature, heroic history and blue sea white sand. If you are looking for a place to relax, enjoy the fresh air and immerse yourself in the local culture, Côn Đảo is a great choice. Here are some of the things you can do in Côn Đảo:
- Visit the historical sites: Côn Đảo was once a notorious prison island where many Vietnamese patriots were tortured and killed by the French and American colonialists. You can learn more about the history of Côn Đảo by visiting the Côn Đảo Museum, the Tiger Cages, the Hang Duong Cemetery and the Võ Thị Sáu Tomb.
- Enjoy the beaches: Côn Đảo has many beautiful beaches with clear water and white sand. You can swim, snorkel, dive or just relax on the beach. Some of the most popular beaches are Đất Dốc Beach, Lợi Beach, An Hải Beach and Bãi Nhát Beach.
- Explore the national park: Côn Đảo National Park covers most of the island and is home to many rare and endemic species of flora and fauna. You can hike, bike, camp or join a guided tour to see the wildlife and natural scenery of Côn Đảo. You might also have a chance to see the sea turtles laying eggs on the beach at night.
- Try the local food: Côn Đảo is famous for its seafood, especially the côn sơn snails, which are only found on this island. You can also try other dishes such as bánh canh cá rô đồng (rice noodle soup with mud carp), bánh xèo (crispy pancake with shrimp and pork) and bánh ít trần (steamed glutinous rice dumplings with mung bean paste). You can find many restaurants and street vendors around the island that serve these delicacies.
I hope this review helps you to plan your trip to Côn Đảo. Have a wonderful time! 😊
Visiting Cat Cat Village in Sapa
I want to share my experience in the charming Cat Cat Village nestled in the heart of Vietnam.
Picture this: winding paths through lush rice terraces, vibrant culture, and friendly locals.
Cat Cat Village, located in the mesmerizing Sapa region, is admittedly pretty touristy. As I strolled through the village, I noticed that there were many souvenir shops.
The Hmong ethnic minority calls this place home, and their rich traditions are woven into every aspect of daily life. I enjoyed learning about their culture, discovering vibrant handicrafts, traditional clothing, and the local delicacies. We walked pretty far from the entrance of the village to the waterfalls, and hiked along rivers to go back to the main road.
But the real highlight? The breathtaking scenery! I trekked through the awe-inspiring countryside, marveling at cascading waterfalls, terraced fields, and mist-covered mountains. The landscape was straight out of a postcard!
Cat Cat Village offers a blend of cultural immersion and natural beauty. If you're seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure in Vietnam, make sure to put this charming village on your bucket list.
