Chaohu Guishan Park - A "Water Park" in Every Sense of the Word
Yesterday, we talked about Zhegao River Provincial Wetland Park, one of the top 10 wetlands around Chaohu Lake, located at the foot of Guishan Mountain. Today, let's talk about Guishan Park.
We took bus H103 to Guishan Park, and the scenery along the way was the lakeside scenery of the north bank of Chaohu Lake, which I quite liked.
Guishan Park is located 5 km west of Chaohu City on the north bank of Chaohu Lake. The shoreline is about 1,800 meters long, covering an area of 100,000 square meters, and the mountain is 126 meters high.
The park includes Guishan Mountain, Guishan Leisure Square, Guishan Wetland, etc., with the natural features of green mountains and beautiful scenery. The scenic area is divided into an entrance landscape area, a water town wetland area, a waterfront leisure landscape area, a lakeside sightseeing area, and a mountain fitness and recreation area, with boardwalks, waterfront platforms, ornamental vegetation, Linggui Wanghu stone carvings, etc. There is a pavilion on the mountainside for visitors to climb the mountain and overlook the vast Chaohu Lake.
The main attractions include the Linggui Wanghu stone carvings and Guishan Sunset, among which Guishan Sunset is one of the "Three Wonders of Chaohu Lake". The "Three Wonders of Chaohu Lake" refer to the lake, hot springs, and mountain scenery.
The biggest feature of Guishan Park is its proximity to the water, making it a "water park" in every sense of the word. In the park, people can enjoy the vastness of Chaohu Lake from the viewing platform extending into the lake, or walk along the boardwalk by the lake and get up close and personal with the blue waves of Chaohu Lake.

On the viewing platform at the foot of Guishan Mountain, there is a large stone turtle, and the stone wall behind it is inscribed with the words "Linggui Wanghu". According to the "Guishan Scenic Area Stele", "A giant stone turtle is placed in the bay at the foot of the mountain, 1.68 meters high and weighing 11 tons. The Linggui plays with the waves, drinks the clouds, and sleeps in the moon, full of fun."
Indeed, this stone turtle is unique, with a dragon head, phoenix claws, and turtle body, resembling a dragon child who loves to carry heavy loads and carry stone tablets, but without carrying a stone tablet. The stone tablet inscribed with the "Guishan Scenic Area Stele" is placed in the pavilion behind the stone turtle.

Chaohu East Station is located in Chaohu City, Anhui Province, and is a railway station under the jurisdiction of China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. It is a cross-line hub of the Hefei-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway, Hefei-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway, and Hefei-Chaohu-Ma'anshan Intercity Railway, and is also one of the important stations in Anhui Province.
Chaohu East Station was built on November 10, 2013, and put into operation on June 28, 2015.
After visiting Guishan Park, we planned to take a taxi back to Hefei, but it was already past 18:00, and there were no cars back to Hefei, so we took a taxi to the nearby Chaohu East Station, and then took the high-speed train G7760 from Chaohu East Station (19:13-19:39) to Hefei South Station (26 minutes).
After leaving Hefei South Station, we took Metro Line 4 to Tian'e Lake East Station, had dinner at Hema Fresh, and checked into a homestay.
This time we stayed in Hefei at: Tusu Loft Apartment (Hefei Tian'e Lake Branch), which is close to Tian'e Lake East Metro Station, making it very convenient to travel.
The first day's itinerary ended happily.
