The valley is just a short drive from Göreme, making it super accessible. I booked a two-hour guided horse ride that cost around 400 TRY (roughly $15 USD), which was totally worth it for the views and the experience of exploring this beautiful place from a different perspective. My horse was gentle and well-trained, perfect for a beginner like me, but still lively enough to make the ride exciting. For me flying in a hot air balloon is an amazing experience, as is watching the balloons in the air from the top of the hill. I could see the combination of colours in the sky along the rock formation called the fairy chimney. It felt unreal. As crowded as the sky gets WITH BALLOONS, it is not like they are jostling for space or getting in the way of people appreciating the landscapes beneath. Cappadocia really is a magical place. The moment I reached Goreme town, I was so amazed with the surrounding. So quiet. So serene. All I can see was monotone colour of the place. The stones covered by thin layer of snow hence the place look so amazing. It was 5° when I reach there. It was freezing due the slow wind blows. I walked through the town to go to the cave hotel. Next, the hot air balloon! I was lucky to be able to ride the hot air balloon during my 2 nights stay. Mind you the balloon was cancelled 3 days in a row before I arrive due to the harsh-windy weather. THE WHOLE VIEW OF CAPPADOCIA WAS AMAZING!!!! When the balloon slowly cruise in the air, and you can enjoy the view of Cappadocia from the above, indescribable feeling. It was freezing by the way 😆 After the balloon ride, I pay a visit to a few signatures of Cappadocia. Such an unforgettable moment.
