A Fascinating Garden
Mediterranean Coast Tour of Spain ~ Girona (Region)
The Pinya de Rosa Tropical Botanical Garden is located about two kilometers from Blanes. This route is perfect for garden enthusiasts, as just a few kilometers away from Blanes, you'll find a junction leading to Marimurtra and also near the Santa Clotilde Gardens. Visiting the entire garden is an incredibly interesting experience, especially due to its rich collection of plants that bloom throughout the year. One unique feature is that some of the large flowers on display bloom at dusk, allowing visitors to admire their splendor well into the night.

Amazing Botanical Gardens from 1920 to Present
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Girona (Region)
Carlos Faust began to create what is now an amazing botanical garden in this special location on the Costa Brava in the province of Girona, with more than 4,000 species, mainly Mediterranean and subtropical flora. There are cacti and other beautiful plants from the arid regions of southern Africa and Central America, as well as plants that are unique to Catalonia. The gardens feature steep slopes and a large lake, as well as a long flight of steps leading to the Temple of Linnaeus, from which there are stunning views of the coast and sea.

Monumental site with Gothic architecture from the 14th and 15th centuries
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Girona (Region)
The town of Blanes is located in the southernmost part of Girona Province, at the mouth of the Tordera River. Along the four-kilometer coastline, cliffs alternate with quiet bays.
In the town we must point out the remains of the Castle of Sant Joan , which, although the tower dates from the time of Charles I, was commissioned by Grau de Cabrera in the middle of the 13th century. and monumental sites with Gothic buildings from the 14th and 15th centuries.
Other interesting monuments include the Gothic fountain, commissioned at the end of the 14th century by Violante de Cabrera, daughter of the Count of Prades; the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza; the Sagrada Imagen del Vilar, 4 km from Blanes; and the Church of Santa Barbara. In Blanes we can also visit two botanical gardens: Mar i Murtra and Pinya Rosa. We can also enjoy the beaches of Treumal, Santa Francesc, Santa Ana, Blanes and S'Abanell. Encounter the charm of Blanes and Tossa, a romantic seaside getaway
Help! This route around Barcelona is so stunning it leaves you speechless!!
Join me as I explore cliffside gardens, blue-and-white castles, and mountaintop sunsets—every photo is Instagram-worthy and guaranteed to go viral!
Starting from the city center and following the coastline:
The first stop is the breathtaking cliffside gardens of Blanes, Selva! Walk through vine-covered stone steps to reach the Roman column viewpoint overlooking the Mediterranean. In spring, the pink flower paths are absolutely dreamy! The cactus garden features giant succulents taller than a person, making every shot look like a magazine cover 📸.
Next, the blue-and-white castle of Tossa de Mar, Selva, is a must-see! Visit the iconic "dog hole" archway in the morning for fewer crowds and better photos. Climb up to the Sant Clara Lighthouse for a view of the bay that looks like a turquoise gem 🌊. The sunset from the castle walls is divine—golden light turns the stone bricks into a honey hue, and long-focus silhouette shots are pure magic.
In the evening, head straight to Mount Tibidabo! The 360° observation deck offers panoramic views of the old town, the port, and the Sagrada Família. It gets windy at the top, so bring a jacket. About 15 minutes before sunset, take a backlit side-profile shot and apply the "Seaside" filter for a masterpiece!
🍽️ Must-try dishes:
✔️ Seafood paella at a traditional restaurant in Tossa de Mar, with lobster and saffron-infused rice.
✔️ Escalivada, a roasted vegetable salad in Blanes, served with freshly baked baguette.
✔️ Bring snacks to the mountaintop for a chill picnic while watching the sunset.
⚠️ Tips:
✅ The castle area has lots of mosquitoes, so bring insect repellent.
✅ The botanical garden has slopes, so wear comfortable shoes.
✅ Spanish restaurants close early for lunch breaks, so don’t miss meal times!

#europetrip
One of the most beautiful places in Marimurtra Blanes, a Jard Bot drop off botanical garden, is located on the edge of a cliff with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea. With over 3000 species of plants, there are many photo taking locations, especially this small pavilion and the sloping road with cypress trees on both sides. Taking photos of Blanes is a must visit attraction. Now, the beach in Platja de Blanes has clear seawater, which is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and various sea activities. There are many restaurants and bars around the beach, which is a great place to relax and unwind
