BALAYAN CHURCH: FEELING NOSTALGIC
Travelling from Manila to Tagaytay City to Balayan Church in Balayan, Batangas via SLEX, Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road and Tagaytay-Nasugbu Hwy is almost 120.5 kms for almost 3 hours of private van ride. Balayan came from the word "Balai" which means house or "Balayang" which means wood. As i stepped on the grounds of Balayan I felt nostalgic as if i am connected in the past of its old history. And as I entered the church of the Immaculate Conception, with its baroque architectural style, that powerful sentimental feeling came over me-with its thick walls, high facades, massive bell tower which give grandiosity, drama and emotional upliftment on my spirit. The church is made up of coral, wood and bricks. Yes, it is a little bit far from Manila but if you are staying in Tagaytay City it is only about an hour and half travel time for a half day experience of nostalgia for a tourist and pilgrim. By the way, this is a National Cultural Treasure by Heritage Designation in 2001. June 24 is the best time to enjoy Lechon Festival. Underrated by now but a must SEE!#celebratewithtrip #mytripvlog#tripblazers#awesomepic#national treasure #historical church
