July 27, 2026 — During the 2026-2027 winter season, the Isperia II will infuse the unique charm of a tranquil Mediterranean winter into its journeys, offering guests a distinctive travel experience. "Tranquil Mediterranean" centers on exploration, contemplation, and renewal, drawing inspiration from the serene rhythms of the Mediterranean—soft light, pleasant climate, and a relaxed pace. The Isperia II transforms the journey to and from its destination into a journey full of inspiration and profound meaning.
“Our ‘Tranquil Mediterranean’ journey reflects the growing travel needs of today’s luxury travelers,” said Anna Nash, Global President of Explora Journeys. “They seek more connected, immersive, and personalized travel experiences. From seasonal cuisine to rejuvenating marine retreats that revitalize the mind and body, and to rich cultural explorations, every detail of the journey is meticulously designed to reflect the unique character of each destination.”
Seasonal Cuisine and “Beach-to-Table” Experiences
Guests will be led by the chef to explore the rich culinary culture of the Mediterranean region, seamlessly blending destination, ingredients, and cuisine. These experiences celebrate the region’s distinctive food culture, allowing guests to connect with local producers, markets, and culinary traditions, and extending this exploration onto the ship.
Each “Beach-to-Table” experience begins ashore, with a visit to a local market led by the Explora Journeys chef, followed by an interactive masterclass in the ship’s Chef's Kitchen.
These culinary experiences not only vividly showcase the cooking methods of local specialties but also tell the stories, traditions, and craftsmanship behind the food:
· In Palermo, visit the iconic Mercato del Capo, purchase fresh seafood and seasonal fruits and vegetables, and then cook your own exquisite Sicilian seaside dishes.
· In Marseille, take a private yacht to the historic Vieux-Port fish market, then return to the ship to savor bouillabaisse prepared by the chef, paired with local wines.
· In Barcelona, guests can visit the famous La Boqueria market, sample traditional tapas with cava or beer, and then return to the cruise ship to prepare authentic Valencian paella, experiencing the unique flavors of Spanish cuisine and its warm hospitality.
· Furthermore, many more exciting culinary experiences will be unlocked throughout the season. In destinations such as Bari and Brindisi in Puglia, guests will explore vineyards and olive groves, experiencing local culinary traditions before enjoying dishes prepared with local ingredients in the heart of the countryside.
· The "Encounter the Winemaker" experience showcases the renowned wine culture of the Mediterranean region through exclusive visits to famous vineyards and family wineries. In Livorno, guests will visit the Il Palagio estate in Tuscany, owned by renowned musician Sting and his wife Trudie Styler, to tour the vineyards and cellars, participate in guided tastings, and enjoy a lunch showcasing authentic Tuscan flavors.
To celebrate Europe's rich culinary heritage, during the Mediterranean truffle harvest season in October and November, Explora Journeys' entire fleet will simultaneously launch the "Truffle Season" culinary experience, presenting unique dining experiences themed around truffles, one of Europe's most prized ingredients.
Selecting the finest Piedmont truffles of the season, guests can enjoy a different truffle-inspired dish each day. Each restaurant on board will present its own unique truffle delicacy, with fresh truffles shaved at guests' tables and paired with Piedmont wines.
Oceanic Retreat and "Journey of the Inner Self"
This winter season, the Oceanic Retreat program on the Il Platinum 2 invites guests to experience the tranquil healing rhythms of the Mediterranean through exercise, breathing exercises, meditation, and sound therapy, drawing upon the revitalizing power of the ocean. All experiences are included in the travel price.
As the core experience of this season, the "Journey of the Inner Self" is a 12-day oceanic retreat program open to all guests during the Barcelona to Lisbon voyage from February 11th to 23rd, 2027. In the serene winter atmosphere of the Mediterranean, this program explores the deep connection between mind, body, and self-awareness through yoga, journaling, mantra recitation, and pranayama, combined with practices at sunrise, sunset, and moonlight. Singing bowl healing and electronic music meditation experiences further create moments of tranquility and rejuvenation.
