Culatra Island is located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park. There is only one way to get here, and that is by boat from Olhão, so you won't see any motor vehicles here, only a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
More than a beach place

Portugal is a blessing for anyone travelling in Europe that appreciates good weather, great food and decent prices. Taking a clue from that, i always tried spending most of my European travels in countries and places that were a bit more on the affordable side. In the case of Portugal there are so many hidden gems or let's just say lesser known destinations.
Aljezur is nestled amidst a stunning coastline. But the beach is not all that it offers. This is known to be a very ancient place too. And for those with an interest in such things, let me tell you that one of the most captivating ancient sites in Aljezur is the Castle of Aljezur. Perched high on a hill, this medieval fortress offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the Atlantic Ocean.
Another impressive historical site is the ancient ruins of menhir of Monte clerico. This prehistoric standing stone stands tall and mysterious amidst a landscape of rolling hills. Besides that there are some beautiful trails passing by quaint villages and scenery like rota vintena or the fisherman's trail.
Additionally, local food was a blessing to ensure you're in happy spirits always. They also keep having festivals all around the year which makes for a very vibrant stay. The local markets are recommended as well!#beachcheck #portugal #aljezur #beautiful
Good food, wine and sunny weather

Monte clerigo beach is about 30 mins drive up north of Lagos. It's set between the Alentejo region, known around the world for its vineyards, reefs, extensive sandy beaches that attract people from all around the world. The sunny Algarve region with its long Atlantic beaches and golf resorts makes for a perfect weekend getaway.
Besides the beach, you'd find untouched nature, a nearby fishing village with absolutely colourful houses nearby, several places to drink and restaurants that serve top notch grilled fish. The sea food is so fresh in Portugal. I still long to go back to this place.#weekendgetaways #portugal #beachlife
