🇩🇰 Aarhus - Where the old and new meet each other
Being the second largest city in Denmark 🇩🇰, Aarhus is definitely a place that you don't wanna miss during your stay in the country! 😍 #familytravel
🏡 Make a stop at Den Gamle By - that means 'the old town' in English, to explore the history of the city from the 16th century!
Split into three parts, you can see how the Danes live before the 1900s, in the 1920s, and in the 1970s, by immersing yourself in the nostalgic shops! 😮 Did you know this museum is the first open air museum in the entire world? 🙈
🎨 Feel the modern and artistic side of Aarhus in ARoS - Aarhus art museum! The museum is full of modern art and installations, and the exhibitions are always changing... This makes your visit unique from others 😍
Make sure you go on to the 10th floor when you make your visit here! 🗼 You can have a panoramic view of the city in the rainbow bridge 🌈 and it's quite fun to see the city with color filters!
Daytime may be short during the winter here, but it won't stop us from exploring the world everyday, right? 📸😉

Chuyện của Xíu
Aarhus is a city in Denmark on the Jutland peninsula’s east coast. Den Gamle By is its old town open-air museum, with centuries-old timbered houses. Nearby are the greenhouses of the Aarhus Botanical Garden. In the center, the multistory ARoS art museum shows global contemporary works. The underground Viking Museum explores early local history. Nearby, Aarhus Cathedral has restored 14th- to 16th-century frescoes.
The Aarhus Region is where you will find Aarhus, second city in Denmark, the Lake District, Søhøjlandet, with its magnificent woodlands, lakes, and soaring hills, the historical, medieval town of Viborg, and the old market town of Randers on the banks of Gudenåen, not to mention Djursland, with great attractions lined up like pearls on a string.
Second city but not second best
When we say this, we say it as a compliment – Aarhus is tiny! It’s a historic city that remarkably feels like one cosy neighbourhood, where all of the biggest sights and attractions really are within walking distance of each other. (We promise.) Despite this local feel, Aarhus has a few distinct and exciting districts which each give you a different kind of city break experience. It just means you’ll be able to explore them all in one visit!

SIRI Aarhus (Borgerservice Aarhus)
First of all it’s in pretty nice location so you can see around also. The place was not that crowded and process of appointment was smooth. I have also gone to Odense one but I would suggest to book Arhus as you can make a trip out of it also l. It’s a big area with food options in the building so you can have something before or after the work is done.
Very friendly and helpful staff. I greatly appreciate all they did to help us! Also, they run pretty much on schedule, so be on time for your appointment!
Borgerservice Aarhus can be found at the following address: Denmark, Danmark, 8000 Aarhus, Hack Kampmanns Pl. 2.
Borgerservice Aarhus is open for business at the following schedule: Mon-wed, fri: 10:00 - 16:00; thu: 10:00 - 18:00.
Autumn in Aarhus
Aarhus looks very pretty during autumn. And because most days are cloudy, you can expect that the sunrise and sunset are gorgeous. The challenge though is the weather is unpredictable so you'll need to pack a raincoat.

Trip to Aarhus 🇩🇰
It was a trip to Aarhus, Denmark. Just want to share my itinerary that I’d highly recommend🙌
I started the day at the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, where I explored the vibrant contemporary art exhibits. The highlight for me was the "Your Rainbow Panorama," a colorful circular walkway offering panoramic views of the city. It's a perfect spot for both art lovers and photographers 📸
📍 Aros Allé 2, 8000 Aarhus
💰 Around 160 DKK for adults.
I loved wandering through Den Gamle By, an open-air museum that takes you back in time to the 16th to 20th centuries. Walking through the cobblestone streets and historical buildings was like stepping into a different era. I also recommend visiting the bakeries for a taste of traditional Danish pastries 🥐
📍Viborgvej 2, 8000 Aarhus
💰Around 150 DKK for adults.
If you are looking for somewhere good for dinner, I would suggest you to try Mefist. It’s is a seafood restaurant where I had some of the best mussels I’ve ever tasted. The atmosphere is relaxed and charming, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.
📍 Volden 28, 8000 Aarhus
💰 250-400 DKK per person.
I also spent a tranquil morning at the Aarhus Botanical Garden. It's a beautiful spot with diverse plant collections and a greenhouse that showcases plants from around the world. A perfect place for a morning stroll or a picnic 💐
📍Møllevejen 10, 8000 Aarhus

I also explored the Moesgaard Museum and found it fascinating, especially for those interested in archaeology and anthropology. The exhibitions on Viking culture and ancient Denmark were particularly captivating.
📍 Moesgård Allé 15, 8270 Højbjerg

For dinner, I’d recommend Restaurant Substans, a Michelin-starred restaurant where I had an unforgettable dining experience. The tasting menu focuses on local, organic ingredients, and every dish was a work of art 💯
📍 P. Hiort-Lorenzen Vej 1, 8000 Aarhus
💰 700-1,200 DKK per person.
I also took a leisurely morning walk around the grounds of Marselisborg Palace, the summer residence of the Danish royal family. Although the palace itself isn't open to the public, the surrounding gardens are a lovely place to relax.

Royal Danish Library Park In Copenhagen, Denmark.
The gardens were designed in 1920 by landscape gardener Jens Peder Andersen and castle architect Thorvald Jørgensen, and were built on top of Christian IV's old naval port, Tøjhushavnen.
As a reminder of its maritime past, a small pond has been retained in the middle of the gardens and an old mooring ring of the type used by ships in the 17th and 18th centuries has been built into the masonry at the end of the gardens.
A delightful green space and public garden.
Aarhus Denmark Underrated
Second largest city yet often an underrated and overlooked city to visit in Denmark. Mixture of old and new from the cathedral and summer Palace to the vibrant nightlife and modern art museums. Great place to visit for a long weekend. #underrated #denmark
Aarhus, the city of smiles :-)
A little off the beaten track, one might suggest... but Aarhus is a great destination for a weekend if you're looking for something a bit different.
I paid just £35 for my return flight in April 2024 from Stansted to the city of smiles. I can see where it gets it's nickname from, the Danish community are among the friendliest in Europe.
Aarhus has a lot to offer with a bustling food scene and a fantastic deer park outside the city centre, a beautiful 1hr stroll away. Id' definitely recommend Aarhus for anyone looking for a relaxed city away from the hustle and bustle of the equally busy capital, Copenhagen.

, Aarhus, Denmark This is the largest modern art museum in northern Europe, the Aarhus Museum of Modern Art. Because its overall design concept is taken from the description of hell and heaven in Dante's Divine Comedy, the nine dark halls in the ground correspond to the nine layers of hell. The colored halo in the sky comes from the poet's heaven and light. Imagine. Therefore it is also known as the place to connect heaven and hell. The architect explains that Schmidt Hammer Lassen divides the whole building into two. The first floor of the museum belongs to the middle between heaven and hell. It can also be called the human world. The popular point is to enter the door, go straight down to "Hell" and go up to "Heaven."
