Mercure KK: Superior Twin Room (no view)

At RM160/night, this was a real deal! Mercure KK’s location is truly perfect for excursions on foot and exploring KK city centre. Near Gaya Street Market, Jalan Dewan cafes and bars, Suria Sabah shopping mall and the Jesselton Jetty, this hotel really is strategically located! They have a number of offerings and this was the most economical. The beds were great and the room has pretty much all that travellers need. We had a welcome drink at the poolside bar too! The layout of our room however was a little strange, with the tv facing a blank space. There was not sofa or bed that would make watching TV an activity of choice. The beds actually face the bathroom/wash area and the frosting is pretty light. We overcame this by facing the wall while one of us was showering 😂 The open space between the washroom door and the ceiling gave opportunity to share ‘sounds and scents’ from within 🙈 Such a layout seems to be common in newer hotels and may be a bit of a challenge for friends or colleagues travelling together. On the bright side, it does break the ice and forges deeper camaraderie 👍 Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value for 💲: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amenities: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #wecreate #kotakinabalu #accorhotels

World Class Sunset @ Tg Aru Beach, KK

One of the great joys of Kota Kinabalu are the fabulous sunsets. And Tanjung Aru Beach has one of the most beautiful sunset views in the world. This beach used to be a quiet beach visited mostly by locals only. Not until 2014, a blog listed Kota Kinabalu city as one of the world’s best place to watch sunset. Since then, the beach is frequented by tourists every day and their exciting reactions confirm that the sunset here is truly spectacular ✨ There was a real feel-good atmosphere here with locals and tourists enjoying the breathtaking golden sunset. Take a camera, chill & enjoy! #sabah #kkcity #sunset

Mount Kinabalu is the tallest mountain in Malaysia. The summit, Low's Peak, sits at 4095.2 meters (13,435 feet) above sea level. The mountain is located in the state of Sabah, East Malaysia on the island of Borneo. Among the mountains in Malaysia, it is the most prominent. Mount Kinabalu is one of the highest mountains in Southeast Asia. It is also the 20th tallest mountain in the world by topographic prominence and is one of the highest peaks in the world that is easily trekked by most people. Before Covid-19 pandemic, there were 185 climbing permits issued daily by Sabah Parks (Sabahan 10 pax, Malaysian 25 pax, Malaysian and/or International 150 pax). This is for safety reasons, so they could help to oversee on climbers’ safety upon ascending to Low’s Peak summit in total darkness. It is also to ensure the summit climb is not overcrowded by climbers. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, there are now only 150 climbing permits issued daily by Sabah Parks as of 23 October 2021. #grouptravel

Island hopping in Kota Kinabalu is truly possible! Learn to snorkel!

Island hopping in Kota Kinabalu is truly possible! Learn to snorkel!

🏝️ Island Selection Before coming, I looked at some guides, mainly recommending 4 islands: Mermaid Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, and Mamutik Island. The choice was effortless because I only considered the distance It is said that it takes three hours to get to Mermaid Island, which means a six-hour round trip, so I didn't consider it without staying on the island; Sapi Island requires one hour, so two hours for a round trip, and thinking about my seasickness, I gave up. So my choices were narrowed down to Sapi Island and Manukan Island 🌟 Highlights I signed up for a one-day tour of Sapi + Manukan, starting at 8:30 in the morning, gradually filling up a car, about 10 people, and we were the last two. (It turns out that it's only a 10-minute walk from our hotel to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal. Waiting for the speedboat 🚤 at the terminal, it took 15 minutes to reach Sapi, and the trip included a seafood buffet lunch. (Pretty bad First, we played some water sports at Sapi, and at 1 PM, we moved on to Manukan. There were obviously more fish 🐟 at Manukan, and even my husband, who is usually a landlubber, couldn't resist snorkeling. As for me, lying on the white sand, I was drowsy 😪 and very comfortable, with the ants on the sand being insignificant ☁️ We returned to the terminal around 4:40 PM and went back to the hotel 🏨, changed clothes, and went straight to watch the sunset, which we made in time. PS. 🏨 The Hyatt Regency Kinabalu is very convenient for transportation, just across the street from Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, where you can buy clothes directly if you didn't bring enough - and there are many restaurants worth checking in nearby: oldtown white coffee (everyone should go, just order anything ), Sin Kee Bak Kut Teh (the dry noodles and bak kut teh are really good), and the seafood 🦞 lobsters really need to be garlic-flavored!!!

GOLFING IS AN ATTRACTION? YES, MY DEAR!

⛳️ Likas Golf Club, Golf Driving Range, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Golfing is one of the best attraction in Sabah, especially tourist from Japan and Korea. The reason why is because of the ‘low costs’. Can you imagine, 100 balls only for RM10.60 with no entrance fee at all? Don’t you think it’s crazy? I was impressed. That was cheap! Way too cheap!!! No wonder this place are famous among the people who love golfing from all around the world. Parking place were spacious, no worries. Clean toilet.
