Introduction Shanghai Opera Performances in Shanghai

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate

Shanghai opera is a type of opera that originated in Shanghai. It was listed as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. It originated from folk songs, and later absorbed folk tunes such as field songs and mountain songs on both sides of the Huangpu River. It has a strong Jiangnan water town charm and is deeply loved by local residents and tourists. The performance form of Shanghai opera is mainly singing, supplemented by speaking, acting, reading and fighting, and the music is gentle and soft. The melodious singing and the narration full of life make a vivid picture of Shanghai life come to life on paper. The selection of Shanghai opera includes historical legends and real life, reflecting the spiritual outlook and living conditions of the people of Shanghai. Whether it is classic traditional repertoires such as "Luohan Money" and "Lu Yachen Sells His Wife", or modern dramas reflecting modern life such as "Thunderstorm" and "Lu Dang Fire", Shanghai opera can touch the heartstrings of the audience with its unique artistic language.

Shanghai Hotel

Shanghai Hotel

The Middle House is located in the Taikoo Hui area, which is a property of the Taikoo Hui Group. The hotel design is from the Italian designer Piero Lissoni. As soon as you enter the lobby on the first floor, there is a super gorgeous crystal chandelier, and the fresh flowers on the black wood grain round table below are what I always stop to look at more. I don't know if they are replaced every day, or I just happen to go at the replacement time. Anyway, I have never seen repeated flower arrangements. The lobby on the first floor is very beautiful, the rest area is simple and atmospheric, and there is a work by a Hong Kong artist hanging on the wall. It is a white robe decorated with tens of thousands of accessories. I have never taken a photo of it. The main color of the Middle House Hotel is black, and the location, design, and service are all perfect. The restaurant, bar, and swimming pool of the Middle House are all highlights. It is the only one where I can enjoy the beauty of space without seeing the selfie party that breaks the atmosphere. I suggest you check more online, the pictures are limited, I can't upload many pictures, believe me, it is definitely the most beautiful hotel. Puli The Puli is located in the Jing'an Temple Kerry Center business district. It is the first hotel in China positioned as an 'urban paradise', and it is also a member of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) group. The members of this hotel in Shanghai also include Capella, J Hotel, and Anandi. Compared with the Middle House, Puli may be a little less private. Considering the overall conditions, Puli has a high cost performance, so it is inevitably very popular and crowded. Shanghai Middle House Hotel·Frasca (Nanjing West Road Store)

Shanghai Planetarium

Shanghai Planetarium

🌟Highlights: The venue is very large with three floors. Both children and adults have gained knowledge. After coming back, they will draw a planet every day. Many people say that tickets are hard to get, but it's actually okay. Set the alarm at 9:28, tickets start selling at 9:30. There will be five minutes for us to fill in the information, and submit it on time at 9:35 to get the tickets. ⏳Play time: Because we couldn't make reservations for the movies and activities inside the venue, we played for half a day, but the children were still very happy. 👎Least recommended: There are too many people, you can't turn around in the first floor venue. Halfway through the queue for the electronic explanation device, they said they were all rented out.

Large Art Exhibition | 'Urban Chords'

'Urban Chords'. A friend invited me for coffee nearby, and I stumbled upon the large art installation 'Urban Chords' at the North Plaza of Xingye Taikoo Hui. Standing at 10 meters tall, it was specially created by a French artist and is very eye-catching. The work emphasizes the theme 'A piano that everyone can play', creating an artistic atmosphere that adds a bright touch to the city, and also showcases the trendy and luxurious style of Shanghai's nightlife, which is very popular with citizens and tourists. 📍Detailed Address: 789 West Nanjing Road 🚉Transportation Strategy: 80 meters walk from Exit 5 of West Nanjing Road Station on Metro Line 13

Shanghai in April | A must-visit to Jing'an Sculpture Park

Shanghai in April | A must-visit to Jing'an Sculpture Park

Today when I went, the ☁️ little dog sculpture from the first picture was no longer there, but it welcomed the long-missed spring. The park was bustling with people, yet it didn't annoy me. Because the space is open and the scenes are rich, if you can't see the cherry blossoms, you can look at sculptures, if you can't see sculptures, you can go to less crowded areas and stay with the ☀️ and the grass, or at the very least, take a few laps on the citizen's walkway. The walkway is not boring either, with periodic avant-garde sculpture displays showing some artistic expression. Living near the sculpture park for almost three years before and after going abroad, from the initial bronze and iron types of sculptures to the now colorful and concrete images, makes one realize that sculptures can also be interesting and diverse. This place is also a good spot for observing humanity, where you can see uncles and aunties who come out to photograph and socialize on workdays, the stumbling little children, and the out-of-town tourists who often ask me to take photos for them. In just a short 20 minutes in the park, it seems like you can see a lifetime of people, as well as the spirit described by Yu Hua as 'It seems they only have one direction to move in, and that is forward.' Although compared to London, the sculpture park is much smaller, one can feel that its planning has already begun to carry human warmth. Two years ago, that quiet spring, I watched as the park downstairs went from bustling to empty, and this year, the park has gone from being closed to an open structure!

Exhibition Name: Cui Jie: Gift Exhibition Location: West Bank Art Museum (2600 Longteng Avenue) 0 Exhibition Hall Public Transportation: Metro Line 11 Yunjin Road Station, Binjiang No.1 Exhibition Date: November 10, 2023 to February 25, 2024 Exhibition Tickets: Free Exhibition Introduction: The exhibition will explore the architectural, sculptural, and ecological changes in Shanghai and the related history and memories through Cui Jie's more than ten new paintings and a series of documents related to urban public landscapes. Mist Language Wind Words: I personally think that the curatorial selection is questionable: the selected frame of Dong'an Park only has form, but lacks the spirit of the garden frame. Secondly, the gorgeousness of brocade and the multi-panel colors of Cui Jie's paintings overlap a bit, making it a bit complicated. I personally think that brocade is more suitable as the background for documentary materials. This exhibition is worth watching ***.

2010 Intangible Cultural Heritage - Shanghai Velvet Embroidery

Exhibition Name: Beauty Inside and Out - Shanghai Velvet Embroidery Global Travel Diary Exhibition Location: China Art Palace 0m Layer 17 Exhibition Hall Public Transportation: Metro Line 8 China Art Palace Station Exhibition Date: June 10, 2023 - June 28, 2023 Exhibition Ticket: Free Exhibition Recommendation: This exhibition displays more than 100 velvet embroidery works and nearly 30 sets of exquisite cultural and creative products. Whispers in the Fog: In 2011, Shanghai velvet embroidery was listed in the national representative list of intangible cultural heritage. But the situation is not optimistic. Fog has met an octogenarian master of velvet embroidery, whose works have entered the People's Great Hall, and a studio registered in her name, in the Little White Space Building (supported by the state). She said that the works carefully embroidered by the disciples in the studio are not sought after, and they live on the state-supported monthly salary of 4,000 yuan, which cannot retain people or skills.

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden: Magnolia and Cherry Blossom Festival

I visited Shanghai's Chenshan Botanical Garden in March, where a row of magnolia trees was planted right at the entrance. It was the blooming season, and the flowers complemented the river's bay scenery beautifully! The first thing I saw upon entering the garden was a relatively short cherry blossom tree, which allowed for close-up photos with the cherry blossoms without the need for a ladder📷. We could spend nearly an hour admiring just one cherry blossom tree, and it was hard to leave! Garden Transportation: There are golf carts available in the park for only 5 yuan per person Passengers must get off at the terminal stations (A, B). The route arrangements are as follows: A line: Starting from Gate 1 Comprehensive Building — Children's Botanical Garden Station — Quarry Garden Station — Rock Garden Station — Exhibition Greenhouse Terminal Station B line: Exhibition Greenhouse Station — East China Area Garden Station — Aquatic Plant Garden Station — Gate 1 Comprehensive Building Terminal Station.

European-style scenery by the street

European-style scenery by the street

On the way to check in at the rapeseed flower sea, I stumbled upon this park. Although it's the weekend, there aren't many people around. There are some taking wedding photos, and the scenery seems pretty good. European-style architecture, except for an abandoned cafe that you can't enter, everything else is accessible for a closer look. If you go to Songjiang, you can take a stroll there. Parking is not plentiful, look around nearby!

High on Shanghai 😆

SH is an amazing city and the crowd during the Spring Festival holiday did not take away from it's beauty. Staying one night only allowed for a quick visit to the tower and the surrounding areas but it was worth it. This popular spot might be a little over recommended but if you want a few good pictures I'd say go for it. Lots of places around to see and delicious food to try. So give it a try! #bucketlist #shanghai #travelinspiration
