3 days in Berlin

Berlin is probably one of the cheapest European capitals to visit. Hotels here are on average 50% cheaper than in other western capital cities. 3 nights in a 3* hotel near KaDeWe was just over €120 for three nights incl breakfast. Magnificent value! Must sees are Berlin Wall (U/SBahn Warschauer Str), KaDeWe (UBahn Wittenberge Platz) and TV Tower (U/SBahn Alexanderplatz). Make sure to try local Döner (kebab). They are massive, tasty and only cost around €5 each. #fernsehturm #berlin#dürüm

A day in Berlin 🇩🇪

#myhiddengems Spending a day in Berlin was an unforgettable experience! 🇩🇪 The city is a perfect mix of rich history, vibrant culture, and modern vibes. I started my day at the iconic Brandenburg Gate, which is a must-see and totally free! 🌟 The grandeur of this historic monument is incredible, and it’s a perfect spot for some early morning photos. Just a short walk from there is the Holocaust Memorial, which is both moving and thought-provoking. Walking through the stone slabs was a powerful reminder of history. 🕊️ Next, I headed to the Reichstag Building. I didn’t book my free entry in advance, so I had to wait a bit, but it was worth it! The glass dome offers amazing views of the city, and I loved learning about German politics through the audio guide. 🎧 Afterward, I explored the lively streets of Mitte, grabbing a bratwurst from a street vendor—classic Berlin snack! 🌭 In the afternoon, I visited the East Side Gallery to see the famous Berlin Wall murals. 🎨 The colorful graffiti and messages of peace are inspiring. Before heading back to my hotel, I strolled around Alexanderplatz, soaking in the bustling atmosphere and iconic TV Tower. 🏙️ If you’re in Berlin, make sure to leave time for some spontaneous wandering. The city’s charm is in its hidden corners and vibrant street life! #trip #BerlinDayOut #BrandenburgGate #EastSideGallery #BerlinHistory #UrbanExploration

Berlin / Germany

Berlin / Germany

A number of friends recommend me to visit Berlin, which I duly did. The majority of Berlin however is populated by modern, inmemorable multi-storey office and apartment blocks, which is what I spend most of my time walking past in order to reach the interesting buildings.

Spanienkämpfer Monument in Berlin

There are several monuments in the Volkspark Friedrichshain and one of them is the Monument to the International Brigades (Spanienkämpfer). Located at the west side of the park and erected in the 1960s, it is dedicated to the fallen 2000-3000 German soldiers that were fighting fascism in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). The sculptor of the monument, Fritz Cremer also designed two memorials of the victims of fascism during his stay in Austria. There are also other monuments that are controversial even until today. One of them is the Valley of the Fallen. Located around 60 KMs away from Madrid, it is a Catholic Basilica and a monumental memorial. The other one is the Arco de la Victoria in Madrid, also constructed at the behest of Francisco Franco. Keep traveling and never stop learning, everyone! #fallingforfall #berlin #history

Berlin Wall. - Germany 🇩🇪

Berlin Wall is a place that you can’t miss if you are in the city of Berlin. This wall divided the East and West part of the city in the past. Nowadays, you can see lots of art work displayed and is an icon of peace. The recommended sightseeing time is half an hour or maximum one hour. It is a beautiful place with a tragic history behind as there were many battles held in this site. There is a memorial as well. There is also a small museum next to it so don’t miss it out. The museum has some historical documental. This is an incredible experience for those who love history and culture. #createwithtrip #germany #holidays #exploring #createwithtrip

Northern Germany—Billund—Norway, Road Trip Guide

Northern Germany—Billund—Norway, Road Trip Guide

🕐: Early March 2025, 14 days ☀️: Average 2°C in Norway, not cold. Average 5°C in Northern Germany, colder. 📍: If you're only going to Norway, ignore the first and last parts. Precautions are in the previous post. 🥰I love natural scenery, art, beautiful architecture, and dislike hassle. 🚙Itinerary: Day 1️⃣: 🇩🇪 Fly to Berlin, Germany, pick up the rental car at the airport, drive around the city center attractions (I personally think only Museum Island is worth visiting, as we'll pass by again later, so no stop today), head straight to Hamburg, visit the Elbphilharmonie, and stay in Hamburg. Buy ferry tickets from Denmark to Norway for the next day. Day 2️⃣: 🇩🇰 Pass by Billund, Denmark, check in at the Lego House (I'm not a Lego fan, so it was boring). Recommend Aalborg, a beautiful coastal city. Take the ferry to Kristiansand, Norway in the evening, and stay overnight. Day 3️⃣: 🇳🇴 Arrive in Stavanger. This section isn't scenic; you can take a ferry directly here, but the cost is 3 times higher. Stay in Stavanger. Day 4️⃣: Highly recommend staying in Norheimsund, an unknown small town with stunning night views and decent restaurants. Day 5️⃣: Arrive in Bergen. Only the fish market area is decent; you'll find the subsequent cities are similar. Save your energy for Oslo, which is more beautiful. Going north to Voss is very average, suggest not stopping, as there are much more beautiful places later. Stay in Aurland (this section is quite long, if time is tight, you can stay overnight in between, but Aurlandsvangen‼️ is worth staying in). Day 6️⃣: Sogndal town, at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, is stunning. Skei, Loen, Stryn are all beautiful. The most beautiful scenery is on the road, suggest staying longer, maybe two more days. The homestays all have sea views. Day 7️⃣: Ålesund, an art town. If I had to choose only two cities to stay in, I'd choose Ålesund and Oslo. Day 8️⃣: 8-hour drive to Oslo, suggest staying overnight midway. Recommend Lillehammer, the host city of the 1994 Winter Olympics. Day 9️⃣: Oslo, you can drive around, and the area around the Opera House is worth getting out of the car to explore. Day 1️⃣0️⃣: 🇸🇪 Gothenburg, a complete mess. Day 1️⃣1️⃣: 🇩🇰 Copenhagen, visit the Church of Our Lady. Lots of shops to explore in the city, very chic. Day 1️⃣2️⃣: 🇩🇪 Lübeck, Germany, medieval architecture. Just visit the old town. It's different from the previous architectural styles and will feel fresh. However, return to the hotel early, as Germany is not safe (return to the hotel early for the subsequent itinerary as well). Day 1️⃣3️⃣: Berlin, visit Museum Island. Day 1️⃣4️⃣: Dresden, highly recommended‼️ Frauenkirche opens at 13:00. Visit the most beautiful Pfund's Dairy. If time is limited, you can just visit this city. ⭐️Summary: Norway is incredibly beautiful. You can choose only the middle two of the four fjords, as the roads are relatively easier to drive, and the scenery is the most beautiful. The southernmost fjord requires hiking, and the northernmost one is covered in ice and snow, making driving dangerous. Be sure to check Google Maps, as roads may be closed. After visiting Norway, the cities in Northern Germany really don't compare. They feel dirty, messy, and poorly maintained. Suggest visiting Northern Germany first, then Norway.

Berlin for heritage lovers🇩🇪

Berlin is a city unlike any other in Germany. Once part of Prussia, Berlin was split into half during the Cold war and the iconic Berlin Wall was set up. 🧐 Walk down the remnants of the Berlin Wall and listen to the story of people who loved through it. Full of history, culture and the best Prussian food you will ever have, Berlin is the best for art and history lovers 😋 A must-go is the Pergamon museum at Museuminsel, which houses world-famous relics like the Ishtar gates 😍 Absolutely a wonder and sight to behold 👍🏼 German food you MUST try: Currywurst, Pork knuckle, Pork Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, Spätzle, Berliner Pfannkuchen (jelly donuts), Pretzels #travel #germany

H2 hotel Alexanderplatz Berlin

This trip i booked H2 hotel Alexanderplatz in Berlin via Trip.com As a Diamond member i got a lot of discounts to stay in Berlin in a very cheap price. Location is in a center of town. Easy to go to main tourist attractions like TV tower, Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island. Room is very clean. Amenity is the defect of this hotel since they provide nothing but a cup and Bath gel. Many power plug for your electronic devices and good light. Breakfast is delicious with various type of food. I love the pepperoni and also their Jam. Hope I can come again #myperfectstaycation
