Introduction Longtang Exploration in Shanghai

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
To experience Shanghai's most authentic local life, wander through its labyrinthine longtang alleys—these maze-like lanes preserve the city's truest character. Between weathered brick walls, laundry sways in the breeze alongside climbing vines, composing living tableaus of daily rhythm. Beneath aged lintels, the soft Wu dialect of chatting neighbors mingles with children's laughter, creating the distinctive symphony of longtang life. The Shikumen architecture exemplifies East-meets-West ingenuity, where ornate cast-iron balconies harmonize with rustic blue-gray tiles. Around corners, the aroma of artisan coffee drifts from trendy cafés neighboring old-fashioned tobacco shops—a poetic contrast telling Shanghai's story of past and present. In shadowy arcades, master craftsmen uphold ancestral trades, while the sizzle of authentic Benbang cuisine echoes from communal kitchens where flavors simmer in well-seasoned woks. Here, time-worn stone steps bear the polish of generations, and faded doorplates whisper tales of change. The longtang is an open, three-dimensional scrapbook—one that lets every visitor touch the living texture and human warmth of Shanghai.

Signature Drunken Crab Before you even take a bite, the aroma of the aged Huadiao wine hits you. The wine's fragrance is completely infused into the crab, which is plump and filled with rich, succulent meat. It's incredibly delicious. Grandma's Braised Pork The braised pork has a perfect balance of fat and lean meat. The fatty part melts in your mouth without being greasy, and the lean part is tender and springy. The thick sauce coats every piece of meat, delivering a savory and sweet taste that reminds you of childhood. Jade Shrimp Delight The shrimp are as translucent as jade beads, with a bouncy texture in every bite. The golden crab roe adds an extraordinary flavor. This must-try Shanghainese restaurant offers dishes that are simply delightful. Make sure to gather your friends and head over soon.

Shanghai Hotel

Shanghai Hotel

The Middle House is located in the Taikoo Hui area, which is a property of the Taikoo Hui Group. The hotel design is from the Italian designer Piero Lissoni. As soon as you enter the lobby on the first floor, there is a super gorgeous crystal chandelier, and the fresh flowers on the black wood grain round table below are what I always stop to look at more. I don't know if they are replaced every day, or I just happen to go at the replacement time. Anyway, I have never seen repeated flower arrangements. The lobby on the first floor is very beautiful, the rest area is simple and atmospheric, and there is a work by a Hong Kong artist hanging on the wall. It is a white robe decorated with tens of thousands of accessories. I have never taken a photo of it. The main color of the Middle House Hotel is black, and the location, design, and service are all perfect. The restaurant, bar, and swimming pool of the Middle House are all highlights. It is the only one where I can enjoy the beauty of space without seeing the selfie party that breaks the atmosphere. I suggest you check more online, the pictures are limited, I can't upload many pictures, believe me, it is definitely the most beautiful hotel. Puli The Puli is located in the Jing'an Temple Kerry Center business district. It is the first hotel in China positioned as an 'urban paradise', and it is also a member of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) group. The members of this hotel in Shanghai also include Capella, J Hotel, and Anandi. Compared with the Middle House, Puli may be a little less private. Considering the overall conditions, Puli has a high cost performance, so it is inevitably very popular and crowded. Shanghai Middle House Hotel·Frasca (Nanjing West Road Store)

💞Reasons to Recommend: Shanghai is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. We got the chance to be here during Lunar New Year which was amazing. We were welcomed as soon as we through the airport and wished a happy new year. Metro is super cheap and convenient with trains running typically every 5-10 minutes which we took full advantage of. We used the line 2 the most which the 🕰️Business Hours: 5:30am-11:30pm and an hour long ride was 💰Average Price per Person:7 Yen!!! 🏖️Ambiance/Facilities: The Bund is a beautiful sight and free entry. Nearby was many shops, mall, markets to explore with lots of different food choices. 🏖️Ambiance/Facilities: There is also many different outlet centres across Shanghai which is great for shopping with great deals! #travel #shanghai #china #thingstodo

Freshly Sliced Beef Shank The bright red color of the meat indicates its high quality. It is particularly chewy and elastic, with a rich beef aroma that is incredibly delicious and leaves a lasting impression. Seafood Platter You can enjoy a variety of seafood in one go. The shrimp is bouncy and firm, and the plump oysters are larger than your palm. Every ingredient is exceptionally fresh, bringing the taste of the sea. Mango Sticky Rice Freshly sliced mango paired with soft and sticky rice, drizzled with coconut milk. Every bite is a delight and a pleasure. Dessert lovers should not miss this. Gather your friends and enjoy Thai-style sour soup hotpot in a tent, making the most of winter camping.

This Gallery and art space is spectacular. The building itself is made up of moving metal tubes multiple layers that move throughout the day. It is a new addition to the bund and they have had some amazing exhibitions so far, including the Yayoi Kusama exhibition that I was lucky enough to visit. The space has areas for quiet appreciation, headset tours so you can learn about the different works while maintaining a calm environment. What I did like though was the big spaces they had for physical artwork that you walk through and inside of. These spaces were vibrant, noisy and most importantly a lot of fun!!!

Shanghai | Mingmen Hot Pot

Shanghai | Mingmen Hot Pot

The temperature is dropping, and a steaming hot lamb spine hot pot is just what you need. Mingmen Hot Pot has been serving delicious food from its old location to its new one, and there's always a line every night. My favorite is the lamb spine hot pot, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The red soup lamb spine hot pot looks incredibly appetizing. The secret recipe red soup is fresh and fragrant, with a mildly spicy taste that even those who don't like spicy food can enjoy. The lamb spine inside has been stewed until it's very tender and has absorbed all the flavors of the soup. After finishing the lamb spine, continue with the hot pot. I have to praise their fresh beef tenderloin. It's freshly cut, tender, and chewy, and paired with their secret sesame sauce, it's absolutely delicious.
