Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Shaoxing, a water town with a long history in the south of the Yangtze River, not only attracts visitors from all directions with its picturesque scenery, but is also famous for its profound wine culture. Shaoxing wine, as a treasure of Chinese yellow wine, carries a thousand-year brewing tradition and cultural heritage. Walking into the winery in Shaoxing, it seems to travel through time and space and return to that quaint era. You can witness with your own eyes how grains of glutinous rice are transformed into mellow and sweet yellow wine after the precipitation of time. In the professional wine tasting area, you can taste Shaoxing wine of various flavors, from the refreshing Yuanhong to the rich Jiafan, each of which exudes a unique aroma, which makes people aftertaste endlessly. Shaoxing's wine culture is not only reflected in the brewing of wine, but also integrated into people's daily life and festival customs. Here, whether it is a wedding or a gathering of friends, Shaoxing wine is indispensable. It is not only a medium for people's emotional communication, but also a bridge to inherit culture and connect the past and the future.

Shaoxing 2-Day and 1-Night Travel Guide

Shaoxing 2-Day and 1-Night Travel Guide

Shaoxing, a gem of a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, has become my favorite tourist city this year with its unique charm. 🌳 Between the blue tiles and green bricks, the slow-moving boats, every corner of Shaoxing exudes a classical charm. If you haven't heard of Shaoxing, Mr. Lu Xun's "From Hundred Grass Garden to Three Flavors Bookstore" will surely make you yearn for this city. 📚 Shaoxing, a place that makes you want to come back again and again, each visit is like a deep conversation with the water town of the south of the Yangtze River. 🍃 [Shaoxing 2-Day and 1-Night Travel Route] Day 1: Xixiaolu - Lu Xun's Former Residence - Cangqian Straight Street - Wang Xizhi's Former Residence - Bazi Bridge Day 2: Dong Lake - Angsang Lake - Lan Ting - Anchang Ancient Town 📷 [Must-visit Check-in Points in Shaoxing] 1. Lu Xun's Former Residence: From textbooks to reality, step into the former residence of Mr. Lu Xun and experience the charm of the south of the Yangtze River. 2. Wang Xizhi's Former Residence: Small bridges, flowing water, and houses, take a small boat through the water town and experience a slow life. 3. Angsang Lake: The lake is rippling with blue waves, and the ancient road is winding. Take a stroll and enjoy the gentle breeze. 4. Anchang Ancient Town: An ancient town full of life, with traditional delicacies such as marinated duck and sausage, which will leave you with a lingering aftertaste. 5. Lan Ting: The beautiful secret realm under Wang Xizhi's pen, famous for "Lan Ting Xu", lush forests and bamboo groves, a good place to escape the summer heat. 🏠 Accommodation recommendations: Choose accommodation near Lu Xun's former residence, which is close to major attractions, convenient transportation, and a wide range of dining options nearby. 🚄 Transportation guide: High-speed rail from all over the country directly to Shaoxing North Station, close to the city center, convenient and fast. For friends in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, self-driving is also a good choice, with a driving distance of 1-2 hours. Shaoxing, a poetic city, awaits every travel enthusiast to explore its beauty. 🌟

Relaxing 3D2N Hangzhou-Shaoxing Tour

Relaxing 3D2N Hangzhou-Shaoxing Tour

Day 1: Arrive at Qingshan Lake at noon—in77—19:30 West Lake Music Fountain—Wulin Night Market Day 2: Faxi Temple—Lingyin Temple—Xiaohe Zhijie—Wulin Night Market Day 3: Shaoxing Lu Xun's Hometown—Cangqiao Zhijie Day 1 Arrived in Hangzhou at 11:00. After dropping off my luggage at the hotel, I went to Qingshan Lake Park, which is the farthest stop! The ticket is CNY 40. I recommend buying a travel card in advance, which costs CNY 15 per day and can be used for unlimited rides! It's a bit far, but it's super beautiful! Then I took the subway back to West Lake to see the music fountain. There were a lot of people, and there were four songs. in77 is right next to it, so you can take a stroll. Wulin Night Market is also quite close. I had a card, so I took the subway for one stop. Day 2 First, I went to Faxi Temple. I took the subway and then transferred to a shuttle bus, which cost CNY 5 and went directly to the temple. It was quite beautiful, and the photos turned out great! There weren't many people around 10:30. Then I took a bus from Faxi Temple to Lingyin Temple, arriving at around 12:00. The ticket for the first gate is CNY 45, and the ticket for Lingyin Temple is CNY 30. There were a lot of people on Saturday. Then I prayed for 18 seeds. After visiting, it was already 15:00. Then I took the subway to Xiaohe Zhijie, which is very similar to the streets in Suzhou. Many Christmas decorations were already up! After visiting, I went home! Day 3 I got up early and took the subway to Shaoxing. The travel card was no longer valid at Guniangqiao Station, so I had to exit the station and scan the subway code again to enter. I went directly to Lu Xun's Hometown and took a walk around. The yellow rice wine popsicle was super delicious, but the yellow rice wine milk tea was just average. Further inside is Baicao Garden, and further inside is Sanwei Study. You can swipe your ID card to enter without a reservation. A little further ahead is the popular Lu Xun Lighting a Cigarette. Since we had to catch a train in the afternoon, we only went to Lu Xun's Hometown and Cangqiao Zhijie. It was quite relaxing, without the heavy commercial atmosphere of Xiaohe Zhijie. We visited Qingteng Book House and Xu Wei Art Museum, which are very close to each other. After visiting, we went home! Overall, I visited a few places and didn't feel very tired, but I felt like I had seen enough. When I lay down, I felt like there were a lot of people in Hangzhou! The subway was crowded everywhere, but the scenery was quite beautiful. I also had a good impression of Shaoxing. It felt like a great place to live, similar to Suzhou. As the saying goes, "Above there is heaven, below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou."

Shaoxing | A dreamy intoxication

Shaoxing | A dreamy intoxication

A dreamy intoxication. If you ask me about my favorite water town in the south of the Yangtze, my answer would be Shaoxing. The white walls and black tiles are infused with a resonant spirit that makes it hard not to fall in love with this place of outstanding people and magical land. For your first visit to Shaoxing, I suggest ticking off the central attractions all at once. Day 1: Lu Xun's Hometown + Shen Garden The two spots are close to each other and within walking distance. In between, there's a shop called Huijingxuan. I recommend trying their yellow wine ice pop and milk tea. Although a bit pricey, the taste is directly next level. Day 2: Sage of Calligraphy's Hometown + Fushan Park + Cangqiao Straight Street Fushan Park is not crowded with tourists, but the scenery is quite nice, and many locals come here to exercise and walk their dogs. Down the hill is Cangqiao Straight Street. Although it's quite commercialized, it's still nice to stroll around and pass the time. Most attractions in Shaoxing do not charge an entrance fee, which is very appealing. Accommodations are also inexpensive. I suggest finding one near a subway station.

Shaoxing·Zhou Enlai's Ancestral Home

Shaoxing·Zhou Enlai's Ancestral Home

⭐Leaving the hometown of the Sage of Calligraphy, walk south along Zhongxing Middle Road, turn west on Labor Road, and you will soon see Zhou Enlai's Ancestral Home. Zhou Enlai's Ancestral Home is a group of buildings built in the Ming Dynasty, where Mr. Zhou Enlai's ancestors lived for generations. The layout is in three axes, covering an area of 2,150 square meters and a building area of 1,680 square meters. ✔️Zhou Enlai's Ancestral Home was originally named Xiyangtang, and later renamed Baisuitang, because the Zhou family had a centenarian. In the 37th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, the Zhou family member, Mrs. Wang, lived to be 100 years old. The governor gave her a plaque of "Centenarian Mother", and Baisuitang was named after it. ✔️The second floor of the west axis of Baisuitang originally belonged to Mr. Zhou Enlai's grandfather's family, and Mr. Zhou Enlai lived here when he was young. In 1939, Mr. Zhou Enlai returned to his hometown to carry out anti-Japanese united front work, and returned here to worship his ancestors. He was warmly entertained by his relatives and friends, and then had breakfast with some of them. ✔️In the main hall, there is a white marble sculpture of Mr. Zhou Enlai in military uniform when he was young. Under the red curtain, it looks elegant and heroic. The plaque of "Xiyangtang" is hung above, and the couplet on both sides is: Select the virtuous and capable, speak credit and repair harmony, serve the country and the people, and assist the world and the people. This is a poem by the Confucian master Ma Yifu, which was given to Mr. Zhou Enlai. It is taken from the text in "The Book of Rites", expressing his sincere admiration for Mr. Zhou Enlai. ✔️The main hall of Mr. Zhou Enlai's ancestral home is named "Songfentang". It is a place where the Zhou family worships their ancestors during the holidays and also a place for guests. The furnishings in the hall reproduce the original appearance of that year. ✔️The ancestors of the Zhou family of Baoyou Bridge moved here during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. After Mr. Zhou Enlai's grandfather took office in Jiangsu, he moved to Huai'an, so Mr. Zhou Enlai was born in Huai'an. Mr. Zhou Enlai often said that he was from Shaoxing and called Shaoxing his hometown. ✔️A memorial hall is built on the east side of the ancestral home, mainly displaying Mr. Zhou Enlai's historical origins with Shaoxing and his outstanding contributions to China's liberation and development. He devoted his life to selflessly serving the people, never caring about personal gains and losses, and can be described as "working tirelessly until death".

Secluded Tea Garden Hot Spring B&Bs Near Shaoxing|Xinchi Sakura Valley -.

The hotel is located in a secluded area with a fresh and peaceful environment and picturesque scenery! It is located in Shangyu Sakura Valley, Shaoxing, quietly nestled in a tea field, surrounded by lush greenery. The name "Xinchi" comes from the heart-shaped pool in front of the hotel. ·📍 Weichi Shaoxing Xinchi Sakura Valley 📍 Zhangcun, Zhangzhen Town, Shangyu District, Shaoxing · The hotel's design is inspired by the shape of tea leaves floating in water and the surrounding tea mountains. It is transformed from an old tea factory, with several uniquely shaped white buildings scattered in a 200-acre poetic tea garden, and a heart-shaped pool in the southwest, hence the name Xinchi Sakura Valley. ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ ▪️ Guest Rooms There are 30 rooms, each with a unique view. The picture windows/floor-to-ceiling windows are like doors to a fairy tale world, blurring the indoor and outdoor spaces, and the picturesque tea fields and heart-shaped pool outside seem within reach! The rooms are fully equipped and high-end, with underfloor heating, full voice control, smart toilets, Dyson hair dryers, and more. · ▪️ Dining The hotel has a water bar lounge and an all-day dining restaurant. The water bar balances Chinese and Western styles, offering coffee, tea, and other beverages. Inside, there is an elegant tea room where you can relax and enjoy the charm of tea art; outside, there is a coffee bar with a rich aroma. The restaurant mainly serves Shaoxing cuisine, with some ingredients sourced from the fields in the park, emphasizing freshness and green, and the chef's skills are highly praised by diners. · ▪️ Facilities The hotel has a wide range of leisure facilities, both indoor and outdoor, for guests of all ages to enjoy. The hot spring pool is perfect for soaking away fatigue and warming the body and mind, and it makes up for the regret of not being able to swim in the outdoor pool in autumn and winter. The rooftop infinity pool faces the tea garden and offers a wide view. In addition, the chess room and cinema KTV are thoughtfully soundproofed to avoid disturbing other guests.

Exploring Anchang Ancient Town: A Visit to Renchang Soy Sauce Garden, a Filming Location from 'A Bit

#discoverchina #anchang While strolling through Anchang Ancient Town, we were suddenly captivated by an incredibly rich, savory aroma—leading us straight to the century-old Renchang Soy Sauce Garden, famously featured on CCTV's A Bite of China! Stepping into the courtyard, we saw photographers gathered around a master craftsman documenting the traditional process of covering the soy sauce vats—a fascinating sight. The most breathtaking scene was the nearly 2,000 large fermentation vats neatly arranged under the sunlight, filling the air with an intoxicating, umami-rich fragrance that seemed to carry the essence of time itself. As a filming location for A Bite of China, this place preserves the ancient brewing techniques in their purest form. We explored exhibits of traditional tools and the garden’s history, and even witnessed various soy-based products still fermenting in the vats. Don’t miss trying their viral soy sauce ice cream, the perfect balance of sweet and savory makes for an unforgettable treat! This immersive cultural experience is truly the most authentic way to discover Anchang. Entrance ticket: Free
