Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Ito Onsen is located along the Matsukawa River that flows through the city center. Not only does it have beautiful natural scenery, with Sagami Bay to the east and mountains and forests as a barrier to the west, it also attracts countless tourists to experience it with its long history of hot springs and excellent spring quality. In addition, Ito City has many hot spring facilities, including hot springs that retain the appearance of the early Showa era and are full of Japanese style, as well as modern hot springs. There are more than 150 hot springs in total, row upon row, and bustling. In addition, there are many public baths and day-trip hot spring facilities, so tourists can easily experience the fun of hot springs.

Izu Granpal Park

#2024wish Parking is free for Illumination visiting hours. Parking lot looks big too. You’re supposed to retrieve paper ticket at ticket counter by showing the e-mail sent to you when you buy ticket online. Rebate is available online. Many fun attractions, separate charge - cycling, cart, balloon, flying chair and children's playground (FOC) and many others. Lots of photo spots also. The illumination is fabulous. The laser light show is fantastic. In 2024, I want to come back here.

Izu Shaboten Zoo

#2024wish Worth the visit. You can touch and feed the animal there! We spent a long of time to understand the species' habits, the park size is not huge but they did a very good job on caring the plants and animal. Some of the animals there could even walk around freely. It's a bit petty we don't have time to eat at their restaurant, the merchant and food are so cute. Even we are all adults, we enjoy exploring around and it's fun that animals like peacocks are just next to you. We are so close to each other, and i think the kids will love this unique experience in Ito. I want to go back to Ito in 2024.

Ōmuroyama

The inspiration for the crater in the Japanese anime 'Your Name,' this hidden gem is known only to locals. From a distance, the mountain resembles a matcha cake with a spoonful taken out, offering a beautiful and soothing sight. Located in the southeastern part of Japan's Izu Highlands, this 550-meter-high active volcano is completely covered in green grass during spring. In autumn and winter, the landscape transforms into a sea of silver grass, providing a different kind of beauty compared to the lush green of spring. A five-minute cable car ride from the foot of the mountain takes you to the crater's edge. You can walk around the crater or venture inside to explore. The summit is like a fairyland, especially at sunset when the golden light bathes the grass and trees, offering a panoramic view of Itō. On clear days, you can even see Mount Fuji hidden in the colorful clouds in the distance. Ōmuroyama 672-2 Ike, Ito, Shizuoka 413-0231, Japan Take the JR Line to Atami Station, then transfer to the Izu Kyūkō Line and get off at Izu-Kōgen Station. After exiting the station, find the bus stop and take a bus to Ōmuroyama.

Mount Omuro, Izu | Japan's Matcha Mountain.

Mount Omuro, Izu | Japan's Matcha Mountain.

🏔️ Mount Omuro | Break into Miyazaki Hayao's Matcha Summer🍃 Use one day to see the mountains and sea of Izu ||💯 Mount Omuro, Izu Nanny Guide, 💬 Many recommendations from [Ito Station] to get off, but the bus ride to Mount Omuro takes about 1 hour, I personally prefer a shorter bus ride, so I chose to go back and forth from [Izukogen Station], at the same time [Ito Station] There are many tourists who get off, and there will be fewer people at [Izukogen Station]. It is highly recommended to visit on [working days], there are many people on weekends, and everyone doesn't want to queue wherever they go⁉️ 🏃🏻 Hiking a circle + taking photos + rest basically takes about 1 hour (don't believe the special forces guide, 20 minutes is really not enough), I personally think Mount Omuro is worth a visit, of course, if the weather is bad (🌫️ rainy and foggy days/windy days🌪️) the experience may be different, it is recommended to check the weather in advance, try to choose ☀️ sunny/cloudy🌤️ weather to go. Mount Omuro⛰️The prototype scene of the meteorite crater in Makoto Shinkai's "Your Name", the title of Matcha Pudding Mountain can be said to be completely appropriate. The beautiful and dreamy Mount Omuro on a sunny day, the back of the mountain is the boundless blue sky and sea and Kizaki Coast, the cable car ride up the mountain is about 1 kilometer without going around a week, it is enough to visit for an hour, stop anywhere is a beautiful frame in the movie. 🥲 Hiking a circle around Mount Omuro is not all flat, it is a bit tiring to walk a circle, especially a slope like climbing the Great Wall. But standing on the top of the mountain and looking at the sea of Izu in the distance, even the weather is good to see Mount Fuji, plus a little breeze on the mountain, everything is worth it. Photos can't really capture the beauty of Mount Omuro (need aerial photography angle), absolutely not as shocking as you personally standing on it. 🍡Finally, you can try the skewered dumplings at the entrance, which are very delicious and not hard or stiff, they are as soft and glutinous as Ningbo rice cakes, I personally like them.🎀

Mount Omuro | A Volcanic Dream

Mount Omuro | A Volcanic Dream

| A Volcanic Dream. Mount Omuro | A Volcanic Dream Stepping onto the land of Mount Omuro is like stepping into an ancient legend. As you climb the winding mountain path, the volcanic rock road beneath your feet tells the story of the passage of time. The vegetation on the mountain is not lush, but the patches of green tenaciously rooted in the black soil contrast with the surrounding desolate beauty, creating a unique charm. When you reach the top, the view opens up. The 360-degree panorama offers a breathtaking view of the mountains and sea of Izu. The distant blue ocean sparkles and meets the horizon. The towns and fields below are scattered, with smoke rising from the chimneys, exuding the breath of life. Standing on the edge of this circular crater, feeling the breeze on your face, you can almost hear the ancient echoes from the depths of the earth, the breathing of the sleeping volcano, and the silent stories of history. The beauty of Mount Omuro lies not only in its natural scenery but also in the traces of time and the tranquil atmosphere it carries. This journey is a dialogue with the ancient earth, a spiritual retreat in the embrace of nature. Thanks to Trip.com for guiding me to this unique volcanic encounter, making this magnificent scenery an unforgettable chapter in the depths of my memory.

Recommended Izu hot spring hotels.

Recommended Izu hot spring hotels.

On this trip, I stayed at two different hot spring hotels. One was the Kamenoi Hotel (P7-P15) located on the Izu Plateau. The hotel is new, the lobby is beautiful and photogenic, and the standard rooms are not Japanese-style. The room view is average. The breakfast is buffet-style, and the dinner is kaiseki cuisine, but to be honest, the taste is average. The hotel's lobby bar offers free ice cream, and the restaurant offers late-night ramen. I didn't try it because I was too full. There is an open-air hot spring, but the pool is small and there are many Chinese people. The most healing moment was after soaking in the hot spring, lying on a lounge chair outside the hotel lobby and admiring the moon. I lay there quietly for an hour, watching the moon shuttle through the clouds. I think I will remember this moment for a long time. The other hotel is Atami Onsen Tsutaya (P1-P6). The rooms are standard Japanese-style tatami rooms. Compared to Kamenoi, it is older, but it is still very well maintained. The room has a great sea view. As soon as we entered the room, we started to wow. We could stay in the room all day. The front desk provides beautiful yukatas, and the open-air hot spring pool is also super awesome. There was no one when we went, it was a private bath, and the design was very tasteful. The hot spring pool that needs to be reserved and paid for is not expensive. And! The dinner and breakfast are super awesome, very delicious, Izu specialty alfonsino, abalone, sashimi, raw beef, etc. are all arranged. After eating, I had a cup of coffee in the lobby on the first floor, it was perfect. In this hotel, we really didn't think of taking pictures, because we were just in a daze, it was so comfortable! Both hotels are awesome, but if I recommend it, Atami Onsen Tsutaya is more authentic and more Japanese. I started to miss it as soon as I left. The beauty of Izu really exceeded expectations, and it was a perfect sunny journey. I will come again
