In his 50s, he built a hotel, freed from worldly scrutiny and able to design and operate it to his own taste. In the evening, I sat in the lounge, enjoying a rich cocktail, listening to the graceful guzheng music, and observing the beautiful young women. All my emotional wrinkles were smoothed out, leaving behind a stable core. Not only the food and accommodation, but also the hotel's cultural experience programs were thoughtfully curated.
