Hotels in Dongao Island, Zhuhai

While waiting for our room, we walked on the beach and explored. The person who checked us in said they would call me when the room was ready but by 5:30 I still didn't receive a call and went back to the front desk. For some reason, they had missed our file in the stack of papers and didn't call. They did make amends but we weren't happy that we didn't get to settle into our room until 6pm. 设施：The facilities are nice, especially the heated pools in the evening. The hotel's location is convenient. The beach is just beside it and there is an uphill path that leads to a triangular glass building (can be rented for weddings) that is the ideal spot for catching the sunset and further up to the pagoda that is the best location to catch the sunrise. It was cloudy that morning but we did capture some moody shots when the sun peaked out. Breakfast options were plentiful but I was smitten with their unsweetened yogurt station. 卫生：The room was very clean and comfortable.

✅Advantages: - Spacious rooms and new facilities. We booked a sea-view suite, and the room was generally fine. The lobby was also nice. - Abundant breakfast with many choices. It's open until 11 am, which is friendly to late risers. The coffee is freshly ground at the bar. - Excellent service. Calls to service from the room were answered instantly, and the pick-up service arrived quickly. Although there were some unprofessional aspects, the attitude was generally good, and responses and feedback were handled relatively promptly. ❌Disadvantages: - Unprofessional staff. While the service attitude was indeed excellent, the procedures were simply not handled professionally enough. Check-in alone took almost 20 minutes. The entire lobby was like a marketplace; no one offered assistance or clear directions, and there was no welcome drink (they later gave us a small cup of cold tea). We just waited the whole time. In the end, I had to ask a staff member myself before they seemed to realize: ”Oh, sorry, we can check in here too.” Perhaps due to the large number of guests during the National Day holiday, the introductions were inadequate. Information about activities, facilities, breakfast location, and times was not mentioned; I had to ask them later. Luggage wasn't delivered to the room, only to the building entrance. Even the welcome fruit included in our package was forgotten; I had to ask the front desk to have it delivered. -Extremely strong renovation smell! This was the biggest disappointment 😰 Perhaps they rushed construction to meet the National Day holiday rush after opening in July. The corridors of all three buildings we stayed in were filled with the smell of construction and dust. They shouldn't have opened in this condition. - Inconvenient transportation. Because there are few activities within the hotel, and it's very hot, you need a shuttle bus to get anywhere. The shuttle to the pier doesn't run continuously, so you need to plan your time carefully according to the schedule. The staff are unfriendly. - Limited activities. There's not much to do, and some activities require advance booking and extra payment. The hotel shuttle is only available for paid private island tours; there's no free island tour service like those offered by Gree or Marriott. So, you need to take the hotel shuttle bus to the pier first, then take the island sightseeing bus from the pier to tour the island. After that, you can only wait at the stop for the island sightseeing bus to take you back to the pier (although it's said to run every 10 minutes, it's actually quite random), and then take the hotel shuttle bus back from the pier. - The sea view suite doesn't have much of a view of the sea. The room type is the Zhulangxuan Sea View Suite on the first floor of Building 3. You can see the view in my review; I don't understand why such a view is called a sea view suite. Also, the facilities in the balcony, corridor, and public areas, apart from the room itself, are extremely basic, giving a feeling of cheaply cobbled-together decoration. In short, compared to the price of 2k+ per night, the current experience is unacceptable. If the main marketing point is a secluded vacation, then Dong'ao Island Anlu has a lot of room for improvement.

We upgraded to a Premium Ocean View Suite. The room faced the ocean, which was lovely. The hotel's facilities and service were very thoughtful. Our butler, Colin, was very attentive. I recommend it, not Guangzi! It came with souvenirs and a goodnight dessert. The Begonia restaurant was also delicious.

The Dong'ao Island Mountaintop B&B I stayed in this time really gave me a big surprise! Although the B&B has been open for 21 years and has been baptized by typhoons and sea breezes for many years, the appearance is slightly vicissitudes, but the environment is absolutely first-class - it has an unbeatable sea view, a large garden, and a night view of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, which is so beautiful that it makes people forget their fatigue! The sanitation of the guest rooms is very clean among the B&Bs on the island. Although it is not as good as the standard of a five-star hotel, the bedding is neat and the facilities are complete, making it very comfortable to live. The most added point is the front desk service. After booking, I immediately received a call to confirm the pick-up time. The whole process was warm and thoughtful, and the response was super timely, which made people feel particularly at ease. In terms of transportation, the sightseeing bus station is right at the door of the B&B (the cheapest route on the island, 10 yuan/person). Although travel on the island is not convenient, the location here is already very friendly. Comprehensive environment, service, and cost-effectiveness, this B&B is definitely a treasure choice for Dong'ao Island, highly recommended!

This time I booked a family room. I was very satisfied with the room. The balcony had a view of the sea, and the hotel service was very thoughtful. When I left the hotel, I was given a seasickness patch. There was a butler from the time I set off to the time I left the hotel. The concierge Feng Junhui was always online and answered questions quickly. The front desk staff was very polite and considerate. The hotel can share facilities with another hotel in Nansha Bay, and there is a bonfire party with a rich program.

We happened to arrive during a rain spell, and I thought we'd be cooped up in the room for three days. To my pleasant surprise, though, the very next day was gloriously sunny! What luck! The room itself was decent enough. My only minor complaint was the infrared sensor, which frequently turned off the lights automatically – a bit annoying. We requested a dehumidifier from room service, which quickly sorted out the humidity issue. Our room offered an expansive view of the endless ocean. The food, however, was a bit of a letdown – quite bland, to be honest, haha. I do hope the restaurant considers adding more local specialties to their menu. Our children absolutely loved the kids' club and the pool; they had so much fun they didn't want to leave! I heard that the Haitao area isn't fully developed yet. Hopefully, it will be complete by our next visit. Unfortunately, a typhoon had passed through two days before our arrival, washing a lot of trash ashore. It hadn't been fully cleared yet, and there were sharp objects like broken glass, so I'd strongly advise both kids and adults to wear shoes if they plan to walk on the beach. Definitely take the island tour if you get the chance! Time truly felt like it stood still there. I'm sure a week-long stay here would be utterly blissful. We stayed in the Pearl Room, which has three rooms, two with tatami and one with a sea view balcony. The manager Deng Lin was very nice and took great care of us. It happened to be the beginning of the year and there were not many people there, so she upgraded us to a room together. The boys and girls there were very nice. At night, we sat next to the moon platform and they brought us hot tea and peanuts. The room was also very clean. We will come again next time!

The sanitary environment is full, the room is spotless; the facilities are brand new and complete, all of which are big brands; the room is medium in size, and there is a small balcony that can be ventilated and dried; the landlord and his wife are warm and thoughtful, all nearby islanders, and the hotel is also very close to the pier. The only downside is that there is a problem that there will be air conditioning in the bed and the blade needs to be manually adjusted. Friends and relatives will be recommended to help, thank the landlord for his hard work, I wish the business is booming 👍👍

其實這個位置的話，它你那個接駁車哦，不對，不對，你那個港口的船是挺近的，距離不遠，很方便，但是可能因為我們訂的特價房把房間就一般一般嗯不過是這樣的，民宿的房東那服務態度比較好，他會給你地圖告訴你可以去看日出，可以去哪裡哪裡玩。怎麼樣的？然後退房的時間呢，因為我們買那個船票有誤，然後也跟他協商了一下時間，他也沒有催着趕我們走，也挺不錯的。

The location of the homestay is very good, eating, drinking and playing are near the pier, travel is super convenient, the room style is simple and safe, the stay is very comfortable, the service is also very thoughtful, let me feel hospitable and kind 👍
