Zhangjiakou Chongli District Hotels

We stayed at Passton Hotel for a two-day weekend trip to Thaiwoo Town, and it was a fantastic experience! Getting there was a breeze; direct navigation leads you straight to the underground parking garage right at the hotel entrance, which has plenty of spaces and even charging stations on B1. Our room, decorated in a charming European vintage style, was fully equipped and offered excellent views of the entire town and its surroundings. A big plus was the complimentary hot springs available at the hotel! The staff provided truly exceptional service; anything we needed was just a phone call away and promptly delivered to our room. You absolutely *must* try the hotel's complimentary breakfast – it's so extensive, it could easily double as lunch! They offer a rich spread with both Chinese and Western options, and everything tasted excellent. Overall, our stay was fantastic, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is relatively new, with good facilities and decorations. The service is superb! Because of the problem of bed size, I wanted to change to a room of the same price. The store owner was very patient to take me to see the room first and then adjust it. The front desk and service staff communicated with the attitude of helping to solve the problem, and their attitude was also very good. It is a good choice to come to Chongli. In addition, the breakfast is delicious.

Big thanks to Eva for upgrading us to a suite; she was incredibly warm and friendly. The housekeeping staff was also very kind and helped me find a buckwheat pillow. It's really cool up here in the mountains, about ten degrees cooler than Beijing, making it perfect for a summer escape from the heat. There's a shuttle bus service to the high-speed rail station and the forest park, though we didn't catch it. Taxis are also very convenient, so if you prefer more flexibility, you can easily just take one. Breakfast was good, and dinner featured Southeast Asian cuisine, along with some sashimi – pretty standard fare for a Crowne Plaza. The balcony was nice, but there were a lot of bugs due to being in the mountains. I imagine it would be better in winter. There are a few restaurants within the resort, though dining options are a bit limited. We ate out one day and at the hotel the other, and both were decent. There's also a small convenience store where you can pick up some drinks and alcohol. There's a library at the top of the mountain, accessible by the resort's cable car, and the views from there are absolutely stunning. The forest park is great for hiking; it's not too hot and the sunshine is lovely. You can also drive up to the summit for photos, where the scenery is beautiful with lots of trees – truly a natural oxygen bar. We'll definitely come back here for our next vacation!

Advantages: The gym doesn't have much equipment, but it meets basic needs. There are more dumbbells and a yoga room. You can't go to the InterContinental next door for breakfast. It's right next to the front desk of Yiheng. It's rich. There is a beautiful lake across the InterContinental next door, and Taizicheng High-speed Railway Station is across the lake. The room size is in line with expectations, and there is a small balcony that can be opened. There is a small electric aromatherapy on the bedside table, which smells good. The group purchase price is great value. Disadvantages: The sports equipment installed in the room was not used. I called the front desk to use the traction rope, but there was no response. The device in Figure 1 is useless and takes up space.

Chongli isn't just for winter; you can enjoy a perfect 21℃ summer here too! 💯 Thaiwoo Town boasts a plethora of hotels, and this time we chose Nanshanli Hotel, located at the innermost part of the town! We were actually just scouting it out for a future winter ski trip 🎿, but to our surprise, we were incredibly satisfied with every single aspect! The No. 9 gondola is conveniently located right outside the first-floor ski rental hall platform – perfect for ski-in/ski-out access! I have so many photos, but I could only upload 20... I wish I could share them all! Nanshanli Hotel *only* comprises Buildings C and D ‼️ The A and B buildings in front are a separate hotel called A&B Hotel – make sure not to confuse them! Our room was in Building C. We parked underground, and you can get complimentary parking by scanning the hotel's QR code when checking out! The elevators for Buildings C and D in the basement are not far from each other and are easy to find – just look for the subtly lit entrance. Both buildings feature guest rooms from the 2nd to 7th floors: In Building D, you'll find the front desk for check-in, breakfast and dinner are served on the second floor, while the G floor boasts hot springs, spa and foot massages, and a children's adventure park. In Building C, you can enjoy afternoon tea in the lobby, and right outside is a charming deer park where you can interact closely with deer! The complimentary package, including three days of hot spring access, afternoon tea, and a charcoal BBQ, offered superb value for money! Breakfast was included for two adults with the room, and it was only 48 RMB per child (1.2m-1.4m tall), which is very reasonable! A free shuttle bus operates every 20 minutes from the hotel entrance, taking you to various spots within Thaiwoo Town! Extremely convenient! The hotel's location is good, but traffic started building up as soon as we got close. The main issue was that the traffic lights didn't have separate lanes for going straight and turning, which led to cars jostling for space and causing significant congestion. Once in the town, we couldn't find the underground parking, and the security guard at the entrance was completely unhelpful, giving us incorrect directions. The room had a dark color scheme and was very comfortable, and the front desk service was good. There was a loud speaker in the plaza in front of the building repeatedly playing the same song from morning till night, which was quite disruptive. The breakfast selection was very limited and just average. However, the complimentary hot spring access or movie tickets were a great bonus. Overall, a positive experience!

The hotel is nestled in a valley, surrounded by lush greenery, offering distant views of Taiwu. Its design is very distinctive, particularly the logo. The rooms are exceptionally spacious and feature bunk beds, allowing children to sleep independently, which is a very thoughtful and family-friendly touch. As it's relatively new, the facilities are excellent, and the surrounding area offers a good range of amenities and shops. The only minor issues were during the peak summer season: the restaurant struggled with the sheer number of guests, and due to staffing limitations, room cleanliness was just average. I hope they can address these areas for improvement. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely return.

I came to Zhangjiakou to escape the summer heat and immediately fell in love with this hotel because it's located in the Winter Olympic Village. After checking in and finding my room, I realized I was staying at the Chinese Winter Olympics team's headquarters! I instantly felt a surge of pride. The room was simple and functional, but for some reason, the hot water was very low. It took over ten minutes for the water to get hot, making showering a real pain. I wonder how the athletes would catch cold during the Winter Olympics, given how cold it is?

This was my first time staying in Chongli, and after comparing various options, I finally decided on the InterContinental. Let's start with the positives: 1. Avoiding the crowded streets and bustling areas of the town was a major priority for me. 2. The hotel is relatively new, its facilities are comprehensive, and the rooms are spacious. 3. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and tasted good. There were fewer Western choices, but plenty of hot Chinese dishes. 4. The restrooms feature Washlets (bidets) – a huge bonus! 5. Free underground parking with EV charging stations. Now for the drawbacks: 1. Many TV channels in the room had no signal, especially the major satellite and international ones. 2. The shower water pressure was weak, possibly the lowest I've encountered in a hotel of this class. 3. Several design elements were quite counter-intuitive. For instance, the shower control was on a different wall from the showerhead. The restroom door, being a fire door, was extremely heavy; I felt a touch of claustrophobia just going in to use the toilet. Also, the shower door was labeled 'Push' but actually required pulling to open. 4. The entire hotel felt like a maze. Even upon checking out, I still hadn't quite figured out where the main entrance was or the exact orientation of my room. 5. The breakfast area's layout was also quite peculiar, with stations scattered rather randomly. Salads and fruits, for example, were tucked away in a tiny corner of the main dining hall, leading everyone who discovered them to exclaim, 'Oh, there's more food here!'

On a recent trip to Chongli, Zhangjiakou, I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and had a fantastic overall experience. 📍 **Excellent Location, Convenient Access:** The hotel is situated in the Aranya Chongli Ski Town, boasting a wealth of amenities nearby. It's very close to Fulong Town, easily reachable on foot. It's lovely to take a stroll in Fulong and soak in the lively atmosphere of the town. If you don't feel like venturing far, the Aranya community where the hotel is located offers plenty to do, with cable cars, toboggans, a large lawn, bike and skateboard parks, various entertainment venues, shops, and a cinema – you'll never run out of things to do. 🌳 **Inviting Ambiance, Connected to Nature:** Surrounded by forest, the hotel boasts incredibly fresh air. The lobby bar offers lush green views, instantly uplifting your mood. The lobby's panoramic glass window design is superb, bringing the magnificent outdoor scenery right inside. Sitting there, enjoying a drink while taking in the beautiful views, is simply a treat. 🏊 **Comprehensive Facilities, Catering to Diverse Needs:** The fitness center isn't huge, but it has a wide range of equipment to cater to various workout preferences. The heated swimming pool has crystal-clear water, and a few laps there were incredibly relaxing for both body and mind. There's also a children's play area. The hotel even provided complimentary lobby bar vouchers for two drinks – what a thoughtful touch! 🍳 Breakfast is served at the Wan Hui Xuan All-Day Dining Restaurant. While the variety wasn't exceptionally wide, the taste was quite good. Wan Hui Xuan's lunch and dinner were also delicious; all three generations of my family were very satisfied. The hotel proactively offered complimentary breakfast for our child, which was truly exceptional service and absolutely deserves a big thumbs-up! 🛏 **Comfortable Rooms, Quality Shines Through in the Details:** We booked a king-size room this time. The space was generous and the layout well-planned. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a wonderfully restful night's sleep. The room was equipped with a desk and free high-speed internet, making it convenient for both leisure and temporary work. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, and the toiletries were of good quality. 💁‍♀️ **Thoughtful Service, Elevating the Experience:** During check-in, the staff were warm and enthusiastic. They not only swiftly processed our check-in but also informed us about the hotel's facilities and activities. In addition to the complimentary breakfast mentioned earlier, they also provided free in-room beverages and proactively brought our luggage to the room, which was truly heartwarming. This stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Zhangjiakou Chongli was truly memorable. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.
